DVD Talk review of 'Winter of Frozen Dreams'

I read Bill Gibron's DVD review of Winter of Frozen Dreams at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=36262 and...

I haven't seen the film and I don't doubt your review for its criticism of the movie. I can tell you, however, that it is a fascinating story that played out in my city. In fact, the second person murdered lived in the same apartment complex as my wife and I lived in about 100 feet away, although I didn't know he lived there until
Spoiler:
he was found dead in his bathtub from cyanide poisoning.

I know they tried for many years to get the film made and when they finally did I heard it was sitting on the shelf. I'm sure it hasn't played in theaters because if it did it would certainly play in Madison.

I recommend the book by Karl Harter. While I would say the writing is pretty average, the story is indeed fascinating. I've never heard of any other case quite like it. The book is out of print but easily and cheaply obtainable from Amazon Marketplace.

I'm glad the film is available in some form and I'm going to get it even though it probably does suck.
