I apologize in advance if there is another thread here somewhere. I ran two searches and went back a couple pages and I couldn't find a thread for the BD version of the movie.

Does anyone notice some kind of noise in the background--like a hissing or buzzing-- that only comes across when they are in the front of the coffee shop in the movie? You could clearly hear it right at the beginning of the movie when they first start talking. In the next chapter, when Zack is in the front of the shop and Miri is changing in the back, the hiss is there when Zack speaks in the front, but not there when Miri is speaking in the back. Then, every scene afterwards in the front of the coffee shop has that same sound in the background.

I notice it is more prominent on the True HD track, but still there in Dolby. I'm guessing it is supposed to be a part of the movie because it is only present in the front of the shop, but is anyone else finding it distracting? I searched around google and I couldn't find anyone else talking about it.

I did not notice it in my Netflix rental, but I wasn't particularly listening for it either, may have missed it.

It's a consistent sound. I was thinking maybe more like the "sound" of the fluorescent lights.

I can't imagine it being a defect because it only occurs in that one location in the movie. Maybe I'll rent it locally and see if it is present on that one just to be sure.

It's probably from the production audio; either generator noise or some sort of mic feedback that they tried to clean up in the final mix.

No I haven't noticed it yet, but mainly because no stores in B.C. have got this yet. Not meaning to sidetrack, but does anyone know why this is?

Hmm could it be in any way related to the whole "porno/no porno" on the cover issue?

That's the only thing I could think of.

I was semi-astonished that an order I placed at Amazon didn't ship immediately either. Maybe there were supply problems...?

Probably more due to the fact that Amazon had the best price (and carry the unedited title, unlike both Wal Mart and Target....)

I got mine from Amazon on Tuesday, and just watched it this afternoon... didn't notice any buzzing. One of my worst blind buys in a long time, I'll give Kevin Smith a pass, but I can't take any more movies with Seth Rogen in a leading role.

Would you mind going back to those scenes inside the front end of the coffee shop and listening closely to the background when people are speaking, now that you have it in mind?

I really hope I'm not hanging on to mine and it's defective. However, I find it strange that the noise is only in the audio in a certain location in the film.

I remember hearing a slight humming noise but I attributed it to maybe florescent bulbs. It wasnt so much of a distraction but I'll go back and watch it again to make sure.
