There is a rumor that a 35th Anniversary edition is going to be released next year.

There's an HD forum, ya'know.
Yeah, they play all 4 on MaxHD all the time. The first looks the best but they all look good.
caught the hidef airing of this on HDNet Movies awhile back and it was a beautiful transfer.

That also depends if you find anything you want in the sales. I've seen lots of sales that include films I wouldn't want as part of the deal. Thus, making it not such a great deal in the end.
Early on I bought lots of SD DVDs just because the price was too good to pass on just to come to realize later that they really weren't worth more then one viewing and definitely not worth owning.
I'm being much pickier this time around.

Why? If there's an HD transfer already (that people were saying was playing on TV), and it's almost an anniversary, why not? Also, I believe Universal bought the independent doc The Shark is Still Working, which seems to be similar to the motivation behind the new Back to the Future DVD.

Hope it's soon.
For a few years now watching Jaws has become a tradition for me. I'll always throw it on when the first real nice, warm day of spring comes, then again on 4 July.

I seriously doubt Jaws would appear on BD this year. That's one of the top 2 or 3 most requested Spielberg titles. With the 35th Anniversary coming up next year, that makes the most sense to release it. It also allows for more players to be sold this year before releasing that film.

I hope Uni makes the original monoaural sound the lossless audio track instead of the remixed one. Main reason I purchased the 30th Anniversay was for that reason and also for the full Laserdisc documentary.
Since I'm on the topic of needles/pointless 5.1 remixes with new foley, the 1.0 track of THE TERMINATOR springs to mind.
DTS did not exist in 1975 so what's the point listening to that remixed track? Original theatrical audio for me please. Studios should also make the original language track always lossless from the original tracks. I don't know this or not but is the original German track on Run Lola Run lossless or not?

I liked the movie and I am a huge Speiburg fan, but I can safely say that i'll be skipping this. Doesn't have much replay value to me.
