Rate em' ...Super Bowl 2009 movie trailers.
Saw so far:
1. "Duplicity" (Julia Roberts, Clive Owen) ...very derivative
2. "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" (Dennis Quaid) ...looked way to CGI for my tastes
3. "Angels and Demons" (Tom Hanks) ...didn't like the first, this looks similar, just not my genre
4. "Land of the Lost" (Will Ferrell) ...i like Will alot, don't like most fake dinosaur movies, but could be another "Step Brothers" surprise for me
5. "Fast and Furious" (Vin Diesel, Paul Walker) ...looks slick and virtually identical to all others in series
6. "Year One" (Jack Black, Michael Cera) ...Month Python anyone?
7. "Star Trek" (Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg) ...made it a gritty, realistic, frenetic, i loved the original movies, so i am def on board
8. "Up" (Pixar Animation) ...can they ever go wrong? looks fun and funny
9. "Monster vs. Aliens" (Dreamworks Animation) ...i probably won't see this, but as a trailer in 3-D, that actually worked and HD it was really cool!
10. "Race to Witch Mountain" (The Rock) ...looks good for the kiddies
11. "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen" (Shia LeBouf, Meagan Fox) ...same frenetic, over-the-topness of 1st, wasn't wowed in theaters by 1st, but liked better at home, probably give this a chance

That was the first G.I. Joe ad I've seen and was unimpressed. Probably 2 stars.
But I've seen a ton of ads for Duplicity and already thought it looked great, so it's unfair to rate that ad. But I liked it as well, probably 3 stars.
Angels and Demons looks pretty good, but awfully similar to Da Vinci Code, 2.5 stars or so.

#$%!, the G.I. Joe trailer aired already? It's only 12 minutes into the game?!
Screw it, I just youtubed the G.I. Joe and Transformers 2 Superbowl spots. They looked decent, I'm sure I'll see them. Save myself the hard drive space of recording the whole game, as I don't even think the Canadian feed is going to show these trailers ...

"DUplicity" (D-) (Good cast but this movie looks ALMOST as boring as Michael Clayton.)
"G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" (B) (Kinda cool but a lot of jumpin around. Tone it down a bit Summers!)
"Angels and Demons" (C) (Well it can't be as bad as the first can it? The cast isnt as impressive this time though.)
"Year One" (F) (Not funny.)
"Transformers 2" (C-) (Dont really understand the love for these big robots from outer space. Seems really silly to me.)
"Land of the Lost" (C-) (Maybe a DVD rental.)

Duplicity looks dumb to me.
Angels & Demons looks ok, but I actually liked Da Vinci.
GI Joe looks bad ass.

Year One looks terrible. Generally they pick the best jokes for these trailers, and these gags were not funny.

Agreed, Cera is just going to be awkward teen in olden times instead of awkward teen in present day. Dig the rest of the cast, especially Cross and Rudd.
