Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers will star in indie feature The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, produced by Cypress Moon Studios.

Variety says Tonya S. Holly will direct the film from her own script, which is a new adaptation of the story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow rather than a remake of the 1967 classic film starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. Holly began working on the project after reading old newspaper articles about the gangster pair in an abandoned house on her family's property.

The Story of Bonnie and Clyde is set to film in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Natalie Canerday and Rance Howard will also star."

The article I read stated that this is firmly aimed at the "tween" crowd, so they need to keep the running time short, and the rating PG. As such, they will not show Bonnie and Clyde's eventual fate, but instead opt for a "happily ever after" type ending.

Well in Maxim she did say she was seeking to abandon her good girl persona. This seems right for that. I'm not saying it will necessarily be a good movie but given how she now wants to play sultry in her roles, I say go for it. If it sucks, I can still cling to Faye Dunaway/Warren Beatty version.

I will be curious to see how she plays out in this role. She was in that other movie recently and she seems like she is going for more edgy roles. She also will start in that new sitcom, so I wonder if it will be a complete change in the television role vs. her movie roles.

I literally just watched the '67 version yesterday (wow, does it look good on BD) and this couldn't possibly sound like a worse idea. Unless they cast Beyonce, then it would be much, much worse.

Actress/singer Hilary Duff has picked a new catfight with Oscar winner Faye Dunaway over her plans to star in the remake of Bonnie & Clyde. After sparring with Lindsay Lohan and Avril Lavigne in the past Duff has decided to pick on the Hollywood veteran after she poked fun at the casting of the So Yesterday singer in the update of the classic film, which she won an Oscar nomination for.

Last week, the caustic Dunaway asked, "Couldn't they have at least cast a real actress?"

And, rather than take the high road, Duff has retaliated by suggesting her fans don't know who Dunaway is.

The singer says, "I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don't even know who she is.

"I think it (what she said) was a little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now too."

Ms. Dunaway kicks ass for this statement an couldn't be more spot on. Duff is one of the worst Actresses I have ever seen. Granted I havnt seen her in much. I think just War, Inc. but she was shit in that film and the rest she makes is all garbage. I hope for nothing but the worst for Duff and her career.
And just FYI i would almost positively STILL choose to have sex with Dunaway OVER Duff. I would be less disgusted with myself.

I never thought Dunaway was attractive. Not that I think this will be a good movie, but Duff is the more attractive one, and I think both of their comments are hilarious.

In any event, every tweener version of a bank heist movie always claims to be a modern "Bonnie & Clyde" at yet...well they ain't.

Furthermore, this proves that Hollywood is totally out of ideas.

This whole thing is confusing. Duff has stated she wants to move away from her good girl image and make more serious movies. But the Bonnie and Clyde remake sounds exactly the opposite of what she wants to do. Its aiming for a pg rating and targeted towards the tween crowd! This is a movie that should be a hard PG-13 or even R. How is she going to expect to be taken serious if she makes rude comments to Faye Dunaway and wants to still stick with her kid audience???

Oh, come on. Hollywood always releases a lot of crap, but still manages to pump out some good movies, too. This isn't the movie that makes me think Hollywood is "out of ideas." As if Hollywood were some singular entity that made conscious decisions, and not an amalgamation of people, all trying to hustle their own projects.
