New Moon (Twilight sequel) casting news: Dakota Fanning as a vampire?

I just heard/read of news that Dakota Fanning is being cast as Jane in New Moon. No auditions, they offered it to her and she accepted. I think it's perfect casting.

Does that mean I can see her get staked through the heart with something sharp? Oh wait, don't the Vamps in the Twilight universe just sparkle or something?

Wow. They found one of the few things that would make me hate the series even more.

I asked a co-worker how vamps die in that universe and he said that they can't be staked, sunlight doesn't hurt them, nor garlic, or holy water. So I asked "What the F does kill them?" Apparently only other vampires, beheading and burning the remains.

Doesn't sound much like a vampire does it?

LOL

More cast set for 'New Moon'
Native American actors added to next 'Twilight'
By DAVE MCNARY

Summit Entertainment has cast Native American actors Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon."

The quintet will join Taylor Lautner in portraying members of the wolf pack in "New Moon," in which the pack defends humans against vampires.

"New Moon" stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson reprising their "Twilight" roles as Bella and Edward with Chris Weitz directing. The pic, centering on Bella being drawn into the world of werewolves, will be released domestically on Nov. 20.

Spencer is Lakota (Sioux), Pelletier is Cree-Metis, Meraz is Purepecha (Tarasco), Gordon is Hualapai and Houseman is Cree. Casting was overseen by Rene Haynes, who's worked on projects involving Native Americans including "Dances with Wolves" and "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee."

"Twilight" has grossed nearly $380 million worldwide and sold over 3 million DVDs in its first day of release.

Well actually cut em into little bits and then burn them, and it doesn't have to be done by a vampire.

I could be wrong, but I think the bits would still be moving around and trying to find the other bits in that case, hours of entertainment depending on your taste.

I would think since you're going to rant against the first film, it should go to the official thread since this is one regarding the sequel.

Sheen cast in 'New Moon'
Actor set for Summit sequel to 'Twilight'
By DAVE MCNARY
British thesp Michael Sheen has joined the "Twilight" brigade.

Summit Entertainment has added Sheen to the cast of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," which began shooting last month in Vancouver.

Sheen, known for his roles in "Frost/Nixon" and "The Queen," will portray the leader of the Volturi, an Italy-based coven of vampires, in the "Twilight" sequel. Sheen has played a werewolf in all three "Underworld" films.

"New Moon" stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson reprise their "Twilight" roles as Bella and Edward, with Chris Weitz directing. The pic, which centers on Bella being drawn into the world of werewolves while threatened by the Volturi, will be released domestically on Nov. 20.

"Twilight," which was a B.O. sensation in its November bow, has grossed $380 million worldwide.
