Re: CSI: -- "One to Go" -- 1/15/09 -- William Petersen's Final Episode
For many (myself included), William Petersen IS CSI:
From what's been said about all of this, it won't be as cut and dry as that, so the show will survive and thrive without him.

In the new Entertainment Weekly, Petersen says he may make a guest appearance next season.

Peterson is CSI but I can't imagine people dropping the show because he's gone. The ensemble is amazing, the dynamic will just change a bit. Plus the writers did a tremendous job with Liev Shrieber a couple seasons back. I have complete faith in them that Fishburne is going to be great.

How did they resolve Liev's character arc? I totally forgot.

A wonderfully understated ending to an era. Perfectly suitable for Grissom with a pleasant surprise I almost thought wouldn't happen.
The preview with Langston next week was exciting. It's a whole new beginning...

Nice bullet time nod to Fishburne's presence on the show.
I thought it was a fitting end for Grissom. Hodges's last words to Grissom were kinda funny in being testy as if they had this great wonderful reparte (mostly in Hodges's mind), funny nonetheless.
Looking forward to what new blood will bring to the mix for the next phase of CSI.

I thought it was a great episode and, if he had to go, a perfect ending for the character. I cannot believe how long I have watched this show. It seems like just yesterday I was so juiced about the awesome premier.
I never thought that I would, but will give the new direction a chance because I don't really have bad feelings about him leaving. I guess I am a CSI addict.

3 serial killers - What a rush job on the case!
This could have been a 4 part series, but they wrap it up with a grainy picture of the moon

I liked this episode and will miss Grissom. I did not like any of Hodge's lines last night though. I would have been fine if he would not have been in the episode.
Nick is still my favorite character on the show.

Very nice sendoff for Petersen and Grissom's character.
I really liked the scene with him walking down the hall and him seeing business carry on as usual in the crime lab. It was good to see Gil have a smile on his face as he left. It kind of implys the show will carry on and survive without him.
I was surprised to see the cameo from Jorja Fox. The final scene was very fitting for both characters.
The previews for the future episodes with Langston look great. I think the show will carry on just fine without Petersen.

Great episode. Great ending to an era. I liked how they had Langston screw up right off the bat so he's not coming in as some super CSI to take Gil's place.
Hodges was more annoying than usual last night but it definitely fit the character. I did love the "more bad guys will win" line though.

According to the CBS site this is getting repeated tonight at 8pm before the regular episode.
Glad because I set it for the DVR last week and something must have run late because it cut off halfway thru
