Thank You DVDTALK and Members-Share Your Best Deal of the Year.
Just wanted to thank everyone for their contributions in 2008. I enjoyed some wonderful bargains on this site.
I personally found the Amazon "Buy 10 Blu Rays get $100 dollars off" to be my personal favorite for 2008 and even used some of the movie cash.
I know there there were other good ones too...some I know I missed.
Happy New Year to you all.

The deals that stand out in my mind were-
the 10 Blu-rays at Amazon that you have already mentioned
the 80% off glitch at borders.com
the 6 seasons of 24 for under $30 at Best Buy
all of the clearance deals on anime at rightstuf.com
the buy 2, get 1 free on all Blu-rays at Amazon
the Blu-ray BOGO deals at Columbia House(plus all of the glitches at CH)

My favorite, so far, is simpler by far.
Buy 2 blu-ray for $30 at Best Buy, which got me the 5-disc Blade Runner and Pan's Labyrinth for $15 each. (Which are the first blu-rays I ever purchased - the deal was THAT good).

Yeah with that 80% off glitch at Borders.com I got the Twilight Zone Complete Collection for about $50. I never thought I'd own that.
I loved that $10 off $10 Blockbuster.com coupon too. I spun a lot of those for credit after watching them.
I'm sure there's plenty more I can't remember.

Mine's gaming related:
Top Dog:
1. Rock Band 2 for $109 at TRU + $25 gift card
(plus I used a $10 coupon, making the entire bundle $75 and tax which was $115 off SRP or $15 more than the price of the game disc alone)
Runner up:
2. Amazon B2G1 on Blu
the one where anything went, including pre-orders. Nearly every major release this fall that I wanted I pre-ordered during that sale.

The Sony BDP-S350 for $179 on Thanksgiving at K-Mart. And to the make deal sweeter, I paid for it using funds made from thinning out my DVD inventory, so it was like getting it for free.

Big Lots Update -- 2008 Edition. An awesome congenial effort from all involved.
Also, the Target $5.50/$7.50 Special Edition set reports were phenomenal, as well as the Blockbuster $10 off $10 and $7.99 HD-DVD deals.

- The Borders 80% off is probably tops - I got the WWE Summerslam Anthology for $40, the cheapest it's been and probably will ever be was $80-100.
- The 24 deal at Best Buy. Since I had all the seasons but 6, I only got the S1 SE and Season 6...and had a RZ certificate as well.
- Blockbuster $10 off $10 and free shipping: sweeeeeeeeet
- Gamestop 75% off used DVDs as well as their $1.99 generic tags: I got a few WWE DVDs for $2-3 each, including a rare collector's edition of one that sells on eBay for $50+!
- Circuit City Venture Bros. deal
- the Pepsi Stuff glitch

I suck...The glitches rarely work for me, and I couldnt get to TRU to do the RB2 deal/glitch.
Best deal I actually got was the Circuit City Venture Brothers 2-pack for 12.00; I ordered something else, got free shipping, returned the something else (this was not planned, I later found that same thing cheaper elsewhere), kept free shipping, and sold Vol 2 (which I already had) for 15.00, so I made a little money on it.
Anyway, yes, thanks to all for sharing their deal finds, and best wishes for a happy and deal-filled new year.

80gb PS3 plus remote, PotC trilogy in Blu-Ray, and LittleBigPlanet for $199 thanks to the Amazon voting deal.
I also got in on the RB2 deal mentioned above, which was pretty sweet in and of itself.

1. The 24 deal...the reason I found the site...enough said.
2. Blockbuster's 10 off 10...I think I have about 20 blockbuster.com accounts now..lol
I would add the 80% borders glitch (and the $5 off $5 glitch...surprised nobody has mentioned) if I had been successful. But all I got from those deals were cancelled orders and alot of time wasted...but it still was fun chatting with everyone while trying to take advantage. Borders has to go down as the worst website I've ever seen. For some reason I just received a $50 gc from them by mistake a few weeks ago, so I can't be too upset. Good on those that got in on the deals, but I'm done with them unless I get more free gift cards.

I have had a few good deals this year but I don't think anything can top the 6 seasons of 24 at Best Buy for under $30. That was one of the best deals I have come across in a long time.

80% Borders.com glitch? Crap where was I?!?!
Best deal I can probably remember was the hit on the closing Hollywood Video Store. Got lucky with all their dvds marked $.25 and $.50. Usually not a huge fan of used dvds, but I couldn't pass that up.

The eBay "Deal of the Day" that got me a Sony BDP550 for $229 was pretty memorable for me.
But also cannot forget the hundreds of great new DVD titles I picked up at Big Lots for $2 to $3 throughout the year.

Mine is also mostly video game related:
The TRU Rock Band 2 deal
I scored a LOT of the $15 Target game deals (around 15 or so)
and a bunch of the Amazon blu ray deals that people post

Easily the Amazon $100 off 10 Blu-rays deal. I got in early and got the extra $15 off for the six Bond movies. 10 GOOD Blu-rays for $62? Ridiculous.
Runner-up would be the Amazon $100 off a Blu-ray player and 4 movies. Picked up the Panasonic BD35 and 4 discs for a little over $200. Plus, Panasonic has the rebate for the two free Disney flicks if you buy the BD35.
So, in the span of a week I spent just under $270 for an excellent player and 16 movies. Many thanks to the original posters of both deals!!!
