What's the 1st DVD You Bought?
really hard to go back and remember i know, but fun to try and see. i know i got "Weird Science" and "Last of the Mohicans" for free when a friend sold me my first DVD player way back. (can't believe i even remember that)
but actually bought, i believe it was one of my favorites, either:
"Die Hard"(Five Star)
"The Abyss" (SE)
so what started it all for you?

The day I got my DVD player I bought Species II and Bride of Chucky. Also Batman and Robin was in the box for Free. I still remember listening to my first Audio Commentary (and discovering what they were actually) when I found the director's commentary on Species II.

I remember. It was Wild Things, a blind buy. I remember I was pissed because the box advertised deleted footage and it was literally a 10-second clip of Bill Murray and a snake... or something.
I sold it off long ago.

Like many people, my first DVD (or one of them) was Twister. It was the first BIG title available, and I believe it was a first day launch title. Great for showing off the audio, too. I believe the other one I bought day one was Seven.

I got a DVD player in 1999 for my 14th b-day. Bought The Matrix. It was on sale for 14.99 at Wal-Mart. They had the DVDs in glass cases back then at Wal-Mart.

Same thing it was the countless other times this topic has been posted. The original dvd of Seven, back in the fall of '97.

DVD Talk Special Edition
First dvd
I bought Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon at Blockbuster. I remember thinking it was awesome because it was only $8 and at the time any dvd that was $8 was freakin' amazingly cheap! I don't remember if I kept it. I haven't watched it since that period of time.

DVD Talk Gold Edition
I think it was the original release of Office Space.

The first DVD I ever owned was given to me for Christmas and it was Pitch Black. Everytime I see a thread like this I can never recall which movie was the first one I purchased for myself.
