They aren't supposed to use it unless the customer actually has the official manufacture's coupon in hand.

Just go to your local Blockbuster and it should be marked 17.99 BD copy. Then ask the clerk about the 3.00 manufacturers rebate. She pulled out some papers and went through and scanned it for me. Total: 14.99 + tax

I bought it a couple days ago and asked about the coupon. They had no idea what I was talking about. So I paid the $17.99.

It appears to be a barcode in their holiday promotional kit that they can scan. More info about it here:

I had to mention it to the cashier. At first she looked at me odd, called a manager and he found it for her.

It worked for me just now. At first I thought I was going to have a hard time (guy behind the counter looked more like a butcher or biker than a BB manager). He had no idea what I was talking about at first, but had no problem locating and scanning it once I described it. I saw that the rebate is good until 1/31/09, but the sale price is only till 1/5/09.

Thanks OP!

Someone should maybe add "Blu-ray" to the thread title though. I almost passed on this thread because of that.

You'd probably be lucky enough just getting someone to PM it.

I got mine for $15 from a Columbia House B1G1 a few weeks ago. For anyone that missed out on that though I would jump on it at this price. It is an awesome movie and it seems like one of the best titles to get for both PQ/AQ.

Thanks OP and everyone with tips.

Cashier didn't know about it but the manager knew right away and took the extra $3 off.

Now if I just had a player...holding out for a deal on the BD-35

I got mine for $14.99 after the $3.00 coupon. I told them there is a coupon code that they have in a sheet of barcodes that they can scan to get the discount. They didn't know what I am talking about and they didn't have that barcode sheet that I mentioned either. Then I told them that there is a Holiday promotional kit that has that $3.00 coupon. They had no idea what I am talking about. The lady who works that was kind enough to call another BB and was able to get the code from them. She manually input the code and I got $3.00 off. It is up to the person if he/she willing to spend time to locate the coupon for you. I think you get better luck when the store is not busy.

PS: The lady from BB asked me if the coupon code is for all Blu-ray movies or for Hellboy II only. I don't know. If someone knows, please tell us.

I settled for $17.99... they had no idea what coupon I was talking about. Then the lady said, well, this is only $17.99, so its cheap enough.

Thanks.
