I have a few different low cost (maybe even dollar store) collections of these, as well as some (all?) of them on various Superman movie DVDs. I've kept multiple versions of them due to different special features.
Any new special features would have to be pretty sweet to get me to upgrade.

I wonder if they'll fix the mistake they made on The Mechanical Monsters when they released the Ultimate Collection last year. They used the wrong opening. I know it's nothing to get up and arms about but it would be nice.

$26.99? Ouch. Are these going to look better than they do on the Superman sets or the Diamond Anniversary Edition?
I was a little miffed when none of these appeared on the HD editions of Superman and Superman II.

When you compare the Diamond with the ones from the Ultimate, they are night and day. In the Diamond Set the first cartoon shows the planet Krypton as very light hazy green, the Ultimate shows it as a bright green!!! That's just one highlight of the Ultimate. I can't wait to see them on BD!!!

Looking forward to seeing the set....if they are better than the very good Diamond disc I'll by it for sure. I'm just surprised that Warner Bros is actually bothering with this.....

Don't know why it's so surprising. They already remastered the things for that Superman Ultimate tin a year or so ago along with the two featurettes. It's a simple repackaging of previously released material. The only real hope is that they might have gone back and fixed a couple of glitches.

Warner Bros. will have its work cut out to release DVDs with substantially better video quality than the Bosko DVD. Maybe Warner Bros. found a first generation negative of "Terror on the Midway," which would be an improvement on the film source Bosko used. With the cost of digital intermediate scanning going down, Warner Bros. may have sprung for a real mastering job, with a BD disc of these cartoions to follow a SD disc. Warner Bros. will have a tough time selling this Superman set to most buyers for more than double the retail price of the Bosko Superman DVD unless the new versions of the cartoons are dazzling.
