DVD Talk review of 'Pink Panther Ultimate Collection'
I read Jason Bailey's DVD review of Pink Panther Ultimate Collection at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=35745 and...
It's strange because the press release announced a lot of special features, including 60 minutes of deleted scenes for the first movie

Hey, this is Jason... I got freaked out by this post, so I pulled the set out and double-checked. But I can reconfirm that the "Pink Panther" disc only includes the bonus features mentioned (Edwards commentary, trivia track, stills, trailer).
I read the press release, and I have a theory.
First, note that it said "60 minutes of never-before-seen footage", but never mentioned deleted scenes. I think they are probably referring to the featurettes listed elsewhere as part of the "new collector's edition" of the original Pink Panther, which was to be included in this set (and is being released as a stand-alone disc in January).
However, it wasn't. The disc for the original is the exact same disc as was included in the 2004 Pink Panther Film Collection, even though it is labeled as the "collector's edition" (I double-checked, since I still have that set). So either the new collector's edition wasn't ready in time to make this set, or they made a huge mastering error.
Either way, no new stuff.

thanks for the confirmation, Jason.
Sorry for the fright moment
The press release was not very accurate on this dvd.
Anyways, I prefer to wait for the upcoming collector's Edition and of course the Blu-Ray.

I'm only interested in the animation part of the series so are they all available for single release since I already have the Pink Panther animated set released previously.

Here's where they kinda dicked you. The second disc of "The Inspector" cartoons and the disc of "Rattfink & Roland" cartoons are not available individually; you can get either get them in this set or you can pick them up in January when they release these nine cartoon discs together-- cost is $52.
