The Robe: SE and Blu-ray--> 3/17/09
Info from classic flix:
Retail for the SE is $19.98 and Blu-ray $34.98.
No word on the other upcoming **Fox** titles previously mentioned (A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Man Hunt & Stars and Stripes Forever), but we've just learned about a solid March 17th release date for the Historical Epic The Robe - Special Edition (1953) in Standard & Blu-Ray format.
No additional details are available except that the SD version should have both the CinemaScope and Flat version.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way - would have got this on release day, but with the DVD getting the short end on bonus features which could have been added to a second disc...as chris_sc77 said "fuck you Fox"

So I decided to watch my just recently purchased dvd of THE ROBE.
What a piece of crap!
Restoration? There are scenes that look like olive colored and blotty.
Yes, there are some scenes that look good, but it seems more that are bad.
When I watched the old dvd my attention was taken away from the constant change in color scheme. Don't waste your money and stick with the old dvd.
The extras are no big deal. They did have a nice photo images section.
