Geez, is this going to be like this till the end of this gen with the Wii? Hell, the way it's going, there is absolutely no reason for Nintendo to move to the next gen till another 5 years or so.

Well, I was right and wrong in my Wii predictions. I knew it was going to be successful. But I predicted it would be a fun and enjoyable console and a wise investment.

2 million? are fucking kidding me?
And Wii Fit could sell more than 1 million units in December if they ship that quantity. They are still selling them used for $150, at least here in Silicon Valley.
Kinda sad about the PS3, do they need to go $299?

I have to agree with PopcornTreeSt, I think it's only going to get worse. The PS3 is still coasting on the fact it's the best BD player on the market and gaming still comes second. That all comes to an end with stand alone BD players at half the cost of PS3s.

It's also quite subjective to say that gaming comes second when there are great games out on the system this 4th quarter. What it comes down to is price, plain and simple. Sony should expect this numbers as long as the price remains at 399.

I warned my friends last year who got it, and my brother this year about it gathering dust. No one believes me until they get one. Although I just got Resident Evil 4 for it, and that game is pretty enjoyable (and scares me).

Which post is console bashing exactly? PS3 is known mostly for BD player? Wii gathers dust? Seriously? I think some people just need thicker skin. There aren't any "OMG PS3 suxxxorss!!!" or "Wii's are for babies" type comments here, unless I have people on ignore that I'm unaware of.
True, this fall they have made some great strides(two games in the top 10 this month), but it's going to take a lot more to turn the "PS3 is a BD machine" to "PS3 is a gaming machine" perception around. Maybe actually slash the prices of games still riding at full SRP that are over a year old(Heavenly Sword, Ratchet, Lair, Uncharted). A Greatest Hits line with only a couple games from two years ago is pathetic.

Sorry, but the software numbers the Wii keeps pushing month after month, shows that the majority of Wii systems are not sitting gathering dust.
