My dad has all the Walker Texas Ranger seasons on dvd except season 6 which comes out next month. The funny thing, however, is that he will watch it on the Hallmark Channel before he goes to bed but then complains about the commericals. LOL Earth to dad, hello, just leave a Walker dvd in your 5 dvd changer and watch it when you want-without commericals.

I frequently catch myself watching Seinfeld even though I have all nine seasons. But, that may have to do with the fact that I'm watching them on TBS-HD, where they're aired in HD (not stretch-o-vision). My dad, however, will watch the James Bond movies when they're on TV despite the fact he has them on DVD, in widescreen format no less.

I own all the seasons of Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Futurama, That 70s Show, Family Guy, Sex and the City, and The Office and will watch them on television whenever they come on.

Me too. I watch it at 7:30 on Fox and sometimes at 11 also.
I have all the seasons except the last one to date.
Keeping them in their case and watching them on syndication keeps
my DVD's in mint condition for as long as I can. That's how I see it.
I do the same thing with Married With Children

I guess I'll be the first one to say "almost never." But then I don't watch much "regular" TV. If I'm flipping channels and I happen to catch a movie (that I own) that I feel like watching, I'll grab the DVD and pop it in.

I'll watch something like Scrubs or Seinfeld when they come on in syndication, but I don't make it a point to plan to watch them, since I have all of what's available of those shows already.

I guess I'll be the first to say "never". I only watch a couple of shows, and I always record new episodes on the DVR, and watch them later. I can't even remember the last time I watched live TV.

I own Family Guy, Futurama, South Park & Simpsons and will still watch the episodes I own when they are on TV. Mostly because it's something I know I will enjoy.
I do it with some other shows too occassionally. I Love Lucy, The Dick Van Dyke Show, I used to do it with Grounded for Life when it was on ABC Family, Full House, and a few others.

It depends. If it's an episode I don't have on DVD yet, I might watch. If it's one I have on DVD, but really like, I might watch anyway. Otherwise, I generally use the fact we have it on DVD as a reason to see what else is on. We don't watch a lot of TV, and we own very little TV on DVD, so it's not generally an issue for us.

BUT it's SUCH a hassle to turn on a DVD player and load a DVD in!
Nevertheless, human nature is such that we will indulge in something pleasant when it is presented to us rather than us making an effort (albeit slight) to initiate the indulgence ourselves. Hence why DVD and DVR and on-demand stuff will never supplant regular TV viewing.
