slow/love song help

Ok, i play my music in the shower, well my mom heard a song she liked and wants to know what it was. Only problem is that i dont recall what it was (it was on thanksgiving). She thought it was either 'all by myself' by either the bee gees or air supply, even though i have neither on my mp3 player. I did recoignize the opening guitar riff to the air supply song.
Thats all i really got. I thought it was either '45' or 'simple man' by shinedown, but it wasn't. I'm gonna guess it was modern.

There's a song by Eric Carmen called "All By Myself". Is that on your mp3 player?

i think if you hook up your ipod back to itunes doesn't it say when the last time the song was played, so you could narrow it by songs played on that day. Or is that only songs that are played through itunes?

How many songs are on your mp3 player? I'm sure it's too many to list, but if I could see what you had on there, I'd have an easier time trying to figure out who it was.

And its on a 4 gb mp3 player too. I figured out how to lower the bitrate on windows media, and the sound quality doesn't suffer (to my ears anyways)

Curious, what are you using as a bitrate? Due to all the compression, I don't often hear a whole lot of difference between 192 and 128 kps, but there's a world of difference between 128 and 64 kps.

Other than that, awaiting your list, to see if I can spot it.

Not ready yet (got a tad busy) itll be done in the morning. Oh and what i do, go to 'tools, options, rip music, then click on 'windows various bit rates', and go to 'smallest size'. Sounds great to my ears (and i have a good pair of headphones too). Bass sounds great, and the only time i ever hear real compression is sometimes during breakdowns where every low note is hit to get that really deep rumble.
