Online commentary tracks?

Does anyone know of other downloadable or streaming commentaries, besides RiffTrax? These are the four I've seen mentioned on this board.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains commentary by Marc Edward Heuck (thanks Luther Heggs)

Child's Play
commentary with Writer/Director Tom Holland, moderated by Tim Sullivan (thanks wrinkleintime for these three)

Fright Night commentary with Writer/Director Tom Holland, Stars Chris Sarandon (Jerry Dandrige) & Jonathan Stark (Billy Cole), moderated by Tim Sullivan

Fright Night commentary with Writer/Director Tom Holland, Stars William Ragsdale (Charley Brewster), Stephen Geoffreys ("Evil" Ed Thompson) & FX Artist Randall William Cook, moderated by Jeremy Smith (Mr. Beaks from Ain't It Cool News.com) & hosted by Tim Sullivan

Good thing I downloaded it when it was available (though I haven't listened to it yet).

Also downloaded The Fountain a while back, and it's the only one of this type I've ever listened to. Good commentary too.

Interesting. I didn't know about The Fountain commentary. I will see if I can locate it. I was pretty disappointed in the movie, but commentaries almost always add life to a movie for me.

The South Park S1 commentary tracks were released as a separate CD set. They are long OOP, but I'm sure they are available online, somewhere.

In the Star Trek Features podcast, there is a commentary track for "Star Trek: The Motion Picture - The Director's Cut."

The Child's Play/Fright Night commentaries are pretty good, but the moderator for those commentaries was a little too pretentious.

Since we are on the topic, I have a legality question.

There are plenty of DVD's out there that have commentary tracks that did not carry over onto new editions. For instance, I have the Dead Ringers Criterion Collection DVD and it has this commentary on it:

" Audio Commentary by David Cronenberg, Peter Suschitky, Jeremy Irons, Ronald Sanders and Carol Spier"

Now that one did not carry over onto the new WB disc a few years back. There are plenty of people out there, I am sure, who would love to hear it.

Is it possible for me (or anyone in fact) to rip the commentary to MP3 and post it for others? Legally speaking, I am not breaking the encryption on the DVD, I am simply using a tool that records the audio stream the commentary is on and create an MP3 of it.

A note to the mods, I am not saying I am going to do this...I am simply asking where it falls in the legal world. If it does turn out to be legal, I would certainly love to share some of the more obscure titles I have with others.

http://www.acidemic.com/id69.html

Both are fan tracks

2nd EDIT - And here is a list of more fan commentary tracks:

There is a site called Renegade Commentaries, which hosts fan commentaries.

I also once heard of a specialized player called ShareCrow. Apparently these commentaries are called Crows.

These all seem to lead to 404 errors - does anyone know of a worthwhile archive of fan commentary tracks? Apologies for the 2-year bump, I was just trying to find sci-fi commentaries to watch next month, and the above link listed one for 2001 that I'm trying to track down.

Re: Online commentary tracks?

iconsoffright also has a commentary for nightwing.

landofwhimsy also has a commentary for deep red.

and slashfilm.com has one for groundhog day featuring one of the actors from the film (he plays ned).

i like that the fountain commentary was released after being cut from the dvd. this should happen more often!

i wish that happened for the one lucky mcgee did for "the woods" because that dvd is barebones.

Re: Online commentary tracks?

Widescreen Warrior's podcast (formally Cinemablends) does a yearly commentary. So far they have done Simpsons Movie and Zombieland.

Simpson's Movie

I am SO glad you bumped this thread. I downloaded The Fountain commentary and the Groundhog Day commentary with Stephen Tobolowsky (cool!)

I found the 2001 commentary (for which I will be downloading also):
http://d2803628.u51.websitesource.net/comment/2asoc.htm

Edit: This site seems to have a lot of commentary links, but I can not speak for the quality of the fan ones. There is also an option to view just the "official" commentaries. Looks like all the BSG commentaries are on there (are they on the official releases?) It also looks to contain most all the commentaries previously mentioned in this thread.
