HBO has already greenlighted a second season. It was renewed not long after the first episode aired, so they must be pleased with the ratings.

Wow, what an awesome episode for easily the best show I've seen this season.

Can't wait to see how the Sam/Tara story plays out and also if Bill
Spoiler:
was the one who killed Lafayette

I'd be surprised if it was Bill since he's smart enough to not feed on anyone at the bar. I'm thinking it was Jessica who killed him.

Huh. It never even occurred to me that it might be Bill. I automatically assumed that it was someone sent by the politician he accused of being a hypocrite.

If it were Bill, wouldn't he have told Sookie that he killed people; plural?

With regards to Lafayette. It's probably just wishful thinking, since I really liked his character, but I hope that instead of being dead he was turned into a vampire. I can't even imagine his character as a vamp, but I bet it would be pretty damn funny.

Yeah, I'm hoping that wasn't Lafayette in the car, but it probably is.

I guess we'll find out in 7 or 8 months!

A great finale episode to a great season. A show I had no intention of watching and just happen to flip over to in the first episode and have never looked back.

Spoiler:
BTW, I think Terry might be a creature possibly a werewolf and the one who is killing the townsfolk. He's a little too twitchy for me. He said 23 minutes like he knew to the second how long someone had been gone. Very strange. I'll have to go back and look for clues in his character throughout the season.

I highly doubt it was Terry.

I'm leaning towards it having to do with the politician or Eddie's death.

I'm glad things are finally getting very far away from the books.

I'm excited to see everything go down this summer

Lafayette was either killed by:

Spoiler:
A vampire in retribution for dealing V; or payback for Eddie. Or Maryanne, whatever she is. The way the death was cut, it's like they want us to think Bill did it, so I'm assuming it wasn't him.

I think iy has to do with the politician. Why does everyone assume he's dead? Last I saw, something scared him and he scrambled onto the trash bin. Did I miss something?

And then two weeks passed and no one had seen him. With the same camera shot being used for the rush at him and Bill showing up at Sookie's door, they clearly want us to think it was a vamp. Which means it's probably not.

More specifically, they clearly want us to think it was Bill. Because the first thing he says to Sookie is "I fed".

That's right, he's been gone for 2 whole weeks. The dead leg in the car looked fresh. Still hoping it was just a red herring about Lafayette. Anyway, it almost certainly wasn't Bill who got him.

Tara in a bikini =

Had to laugh at Bill getting saddled with the redhead in the end. Talk about complications for the guy.

Is Sam on the run now that Mary-Anne has found him?

What did happen to Lafayette?

Jason finds religion.

Why are more females ending up dead in the back of Andy's car?

This show is a hoot.

Who is this Maryanne chick and what is she all about? Is Sam going on the lam or is he paying her off. I would love to see more on Sam's backstory.

I missed the first episode but did it ever tell us on how Vampires came to be accepted?

It seems like Sam is taking off. If she's into helping people she might have helped Sam at one point. Maybe she's some sort of evil Professor X collecting the downtrodden hoping to find people like Sam or herself.

i still do not understand what "power" maryanne possesses (well, other than the ability to vibrate and walk nude at midnight with a porcine companion).
