Pushing Daisies -- "Oh Oh Oh It's Magic" -- 11/19/08

With guest star Fred Willard.
Spoiler:
A magician (Fred Willard) who has been a surrogate father to Ned's half brothers needs the pie maker's help with his act when his animal assistants are mysteriously dying. Meanwhile, Lily is wary of Dwight's intentions.

This is reportedly the final shot for this show. If numbers are dismal tonight, Pushing Daisies will be pushing daisies.

Best episode of the season. The promo being aired at the end shows ABC is at least still willing to give it a shot, though I agree that the numbers need to be up tonite for it to matter at all-- we'll know the fate in the morning for sure. Christ, how can such a beautiful show be cut short?

Crap - they should at least have a chance to wrap things up. I knew the end was near but thought the season would finish.

My theory on how things might've gone:
Spoiler:
Something to do with the pocket watches, when combined remove PieMan's power so he and Chuck (and Digby) can live happily ever after.

I thought they had 13 episodes shot for this season... isn't this like 7 or 8?

They've already filmed the Wonderfalls crossover, which is a couple down the line. If it airs is the big question.

They do have 13 finished. 13 and 14 were supposed to be together but they had Fuller shorten it to one episode in case the series ended.

Tonight's episode was a good one. I will be sad if this gets cancelled.

But it did beat Knight Rider in demographics for the first time this season. Small victory, but still...

Well, with posts like these it's no wonder.

It's kind of absurd that last night's ratings were "LAST CHANCE" for the show when it hasn't been on for two weeks and any mention of it has been about how canceled it is.

I posted an update in my sticky at the top on shows getting renewed etc.

http://www.thrfeed.com/2008/11/abc-no-pickups.html

Not a shocker at all, but Pushing Daisies will not get the back 9.

The good news is it isn't officially canceled, so maybe they will air the remaining episodes as scheduled.

They will air the ones they have finished. No back 9 pickup pretty much means its done for.

Unless DirectTV swoops in!
