Fading Pioneer receiver needs replacing
I have a Pioneer VSX-1014TX that seems to be fading. every once in a while it just powers off. It will then not work at all for a few hours and then is fine again. I have had it bench tested and nothing can be found causing this. So I have to start thinking about a new receiver. I have Klipsch RB35s front, RC35 center, Kenwood KS401HT as the rears and an SVS 20-39PC+ sub.
Any recs for a new receiver no more than 500?

I'm in the same boat. Kilpsch RVX speakers and I'll be ordering an SVS PB12-NSD in a few weeks. I've narrowed my receiver choices to the Pioneer 1018 or the Denon 1909. Some also mention the Yamaha 663 as a more affordable choice.
I'm up for suggestions as well!

No offense, but we have about 15 of these threads in the past couple of months. But to offer a summary...
Most recommend the Onkyo 606 or the next model up (I don't remember the number). The Onkyo is often sited for the best balance of sound quality, features and price (value). I'm a H/K pimp, so I always recommend them. Some very, very good sound, but less features and more money. Denon is another favorite. Personally I don't do Pioneer or Yamaha, but that is just me. They have their following as well.
Depending on budget, I'd look at the Outlaw. Tho that is a very serious unit. Marrantz gets good play as well. I like NAD as well.
This is a nice link with some basic information,
