United States movies with only International releases?

Yesterday, I bought 'Run' on DVD (an early 90's action movie starring Patrick Dempsey) from Amazon.uk. I got tired of waiting for a domestic release.

What are some other movies that were made in the US, but only have international releases?

I love Larry Clark, but I think that Ken Park is one of the worst movies ever. If you want to see a good Larry Clark movie with hardcore sex, see the movie Destricted - his directed segment is the best one in this film.

Rapa Nui. I want to get the German DVD but can't find specs of it anywhere. It does say DTS but not whether it's anamorphic or not. I know there were at least two different releases.

Today I received a shipment from Amazon UK that included Jean Renoir's This Land Is Mine, a 1943 anti-Nazi film with Charles Laughton, Maureen O'Hara, and George Sanders. I caught the last half on TCM long ago and have been wanting to catch the whole thing ever since.

How does one find DVDs like this that are not available in the US, but might be available somewhere else in the world? Thanks.

It's pretty difficult because in countries that don't speak english, they don't use original titles.
For example in France, Born to Be Bad is La Femme aux maléfices (The Curse Woman).

I used to get my non-R2 titles from Xploited, but they've closed up shop. I believe Amazon's international sites have an option for English translation.

Agreed, but that's really not saying much.

House III and IV are out in the UK and a few other territories.

Howling VII is out in the UK and Russia.

The Hanging Tree
Released full screen in French version, with remastering to corrrect color. Rights to this movie belong to Gary Cooper's daughter. One of Cooper's best Westerns. DVDBeaver has a review of French DVD release.

Farewell, My Lovely
Pioneer release pulled off the USA market before it hit most store shelves. One of the most expensive DVDs to buy from resellers, with most DVDs out there either bootlegs or the R2 version. When available, used to sell new on Amazon Marketplace for $200. Rights issue to the Chandler novel seem to be the stumbling block to USA release. The Pioneer release through Artisan had a cheap DVD mastering job. If you see this DVD offered with an insert, avoid. Original R1 DVD had no insert.
