So psyched to see there are some Frightened Rabbit fans here.
So far today it has been. . .
A band I'm diggin' the shit out of right now & an album that is becoming one of my favs of the year. I love the the strings and dervish beat on songs like The Crook of My Good Arm, you can check the album out here.

In the car:
In the other car:
On the laptop:
On the PC:
Rob Halford & Black Sabbath - Live Camden, NJ 08/26/04
On the iPod (eMusic users, this one is on there, totally worth your time):
And lastly, since I have gotten some kick ass recommendations here, here are a few I suggest you check out:
I have mentioned this one before, amazing trip-hop that blends so many styles, always in my weekly rotation. For fans of Massive Attack and DJ Shadow
The other drummer from Slipknot does classic rock-ish stuff, very cool
A holiday classic, but also amazing jazz even without the Peanuts association
Great shoegazer rock, featured on The Shield...that is how I found it

I just got into them fairly recently, but "My Backwards Walk" and "Keep Yourself Warm" are two of the best songs of the year, IMO. And the new live acoustic album is just gravy on top of an excellent studio album.
I have a space reserved on this year's Christmas mix CD for their "It's Christmas So We'll Stop."
All I have by them is Rebel Radio: Master Sessions, Vol. 1, but I like that album a lot (big fan of Cuban music).

That's cool. I've had three Up, Bustle & Out albums for a while but never really listened to them. Nice so far.
Mac, you listen to Fila Brazilia by any chance?

As for Fila Brazilia, I have heard some of their stuff but not enough to say I am a fan. I do like the Twilight Singers album they produced, though. Where is a good place to start?

On the way to work and at lunch:
A little disappointed on my first listen, but most albums grow on me, so I will give this time, especially since I love these guys.
On the way home:
It's going to take a lot to unseat this as my album of the year. Fucking brilliant.

I just bought the new Kings of Leon album and have been listening to that in the car. It's definitely something difference and is interesting to listen to. I'd actually submit tracks on the album not getting air play are better than those that are.

The only Fila Brazilia album I have is Jump Leads. I'd also recommend The Thievery Corporation's The Richest Man in Babylon. These albums are all similar to UB&O: European DJs make third-world-flavored electronic music that is more to listen to than to dance. Or, if you want to be cynical, these are all albums you hear when you go to shops where t-shirts are $130.
Now listening to Best Best of the Black President.
A lot of these songs sound like the good stuff on Bitches Brew (ie: not a lot of wankery).

Freakin' LOVE that Josh Ritter album. "The Temptation of Adam" is one of the best written songs that I've heard in a long time. In fact, I think I'm going to listen to it now...

It really is a completely brilliant album, and his album "Animal Years" is every bit as good. Two of the strongest two albums from any artist I can think of in a long long time. The lyrics in "Girl in the War" are some of my favorite of all time. "wolves", "good man", " To the Dogs or Whoever". Such completely fantastic songs.

Sessa again picks an amazing record to listen to. I like your taste.
Today's choice (yes I got it early, however through totally legal means, I have a friend in the radio business, he sends me all kinds of stuff):
Loved his first solo record, let's see how this one stacks up.
