Pushing Daisies -- "Dim Sum Lose Some" -- 10/29/2008

Synopsis:
Spoiler:
The wife of a murdered chef, Bao Di, hires Emerson to investigate the death of her husband. So Ned, Emerson, Chuck, and Olive all go undercover at the Chinese restaurant where the murder took place. Meanwhile, Ned encounters a mysterious man who claims to have ties to his past, and Emerson is reunited with polygamist widow Simone Hundin.

Okay the "undercover" outfits alone have me excited about this episode.

NOTE: This is the ONLY new programming on the big four at 8 tonight. Everyone else is showing Barack Obama's Halloween Election Special.

Well, I can't think of anybody who could want to watch the Obama thing, so maybe this will boost the ratings.

"Boss, I have an uncomfortable fullness of the bladder"

Not a great episode but fun and definitely a good one for first-time viewers. If the ratings aren't up for this in the morning, give up all hope for it to be given the back nine pickup

So it more or less got the exact same ratings as last week's episode. Say a prayer and then say goodbye

I'm gonna miss this show quite a bit if it gets cancelled. There's just nothing else like it on TV.

Okay well the final numbers are in and the show did gain an extra million viewers than normal, so that's better than the early numbers looked. However, according to a poster on TV by the Numbers, Fuller's been told by ABC to make the thirteenth episode a series finale. He's trying to get them to move it to another night to save it, but ABC has pretty much given up

Pushing Daisies is dead. It’s over. It won’t be moving to a cable network. It might have the luck of being moved to another night like Life. That is the only hope it has. That hope btw is very, very, very small. The show does not connect well with viewers. It has steadily dropped in viewership since it premiered with amazing numbers. It doesn’t resonate well with male viewers. It isn’t for any of the crazy reasons I’ve read by Pushing Daisies fans either. The Pilot supposedly had some incredibly weak scores in certain areas that Fuller refused to change. Facts are if he had, this show would have had a better chance.

The show is gone. It did worse last night than its season averages despite having no real competition but an informercial.
From a poster on TVbythenumbers.com

I'll be done with most TV soon thanks to so many of my shows being canceled. I'm tired of being jerked around.

I like the look and feel of the show as well as the characters. But I have to say the storylines and especially the murder mysteries are weak. It would be nice if ABC didn't cancel it because I'd continue to watch. But if they decide to cancel it, it would be alright with me.

It will be sad to see this go. It and Chuck are the only reasons I even turn the tv on.

Wow, yet another show I enj-...LOVE... is being canceled or is at least on its last leg? But somehow, "2 and a half fuckin' Men" is in it's 25th season?

I'm curious what these changes Fuller refused to make are. Hmmm, let me guess...probably The Narration and the Murders....figures.

You're wrong. But apparently you're opinion seems to be in the majority so the rest of us just have to take it.

I watched it last night. I already made up my mind about the election and there was no way I would have missed this for an infomercial.

I am sad to read this show is doing poor in the ratings. I hope ABC is able to bring viewers back into the fold.

I really enjoyed last night's episode. The dog trainer was one of my favorite characters from the previous season episode. But the lack of Digby (and Pigby!) was disappointing!

EDIT: if this show is indeed done this year, then we REALLY need to see Ellen Muth in the show with a Dead Like Me crossover. Fuller has said his shows were like a trilogy, so it would be great if he could tie all three together in the last episode. We already seem to have a Wonderfalls crossover coming, so bring on the Dead Like Me crossover!
