Little Big Planet: User created levels- The good, bad, and the ugly

So since I and many others have purchased this game, I thought this would be a good way to cut through all the crap levels made on Little Big Planet and recommend the good levels. I might make a few levels but will mostly play the user created content. I cant wait to see what crazy stuff you guys come up with.

What are some good levels you guys have seen so far?

Do we know for sure what happened to the Beta levels? There were a couple of great videos that I saw (like the ones I posted in the LBP thread) that I would hate to see lost.

Anyway, if they still exist, World of Color and Mad Mansion by Geosautus look to be amazing.

I heard that they had a poll and it was decided to keep the levels.

That mad mansion level is great.

The Ninja Warrior by Burning_Out is also a lot of fun if you are familar with the show.

According to a comment section on MediaMolecule's site someone has recreated the God of War level if you didn't get in on the Gamestop bonus. It's called God of War Demon Skull.

How about createing a thread for LBP gizmos you create? I'm going to build a hot air balloon today that'll have a little rocket engine on it controlled by a a switch so you can control direction and altitude.

Not to burst your bubble, but there's pretty much that exact gizmo in the single player game. I'm not sure offhand if you can unlock it for use in created levels, though.

I'm not trying to discourage you, by the way - making the hot air balloon would be a good introduction to the level creation tools. I spent a while in the beta making a rocketship and a rocket car, and it really helped me get comfortable with how everything worked. Lots of fun to mess around with, too.

If it's the same one from the beta, that level was one of my favorites. It's a great recreation of the show.

You can just use this thread for that.

Yeah, I enjoyed it a great deal. It felt very much like the show on tv.

I know there is one, it's just my way of understanding how things work together. It's all about discovery right now.

The tutorials in the level creation mode give you a really good start. There are optional tutorials for some of the creation tools in addition to the standard tutorials, so check 'em all out. I agree that creating some vehicles or other interactive objects is a great way to get acclimated to the game before you jump into making a full level.

I just played "As the world turns" by shiftshift. Very neat level dealing with gravity. Each time i died i would drop to another part of the planet. Check that one out.

I played Mad Mansion last night. I ended up getting stuck behind the big machine that chases you because I missed one of the checkpoints. By that time I was ready for bed and didn't want to start over from the beginning. Anyway, it was a great level.

I also ran through a Super Mario level that wasn't all that great. I've seen better ones out there.

Anyway, the servers were running fine for me last night.

Re: Little Big Planet: User created levels- The good, bad, and the ugly

"Jack McSetback & the Spiky Stone of Doom" by "Wyth" is a good level, it's obviously based on Indiana Jones.
I would also apreciate it if you could play my level, it's not brilliant bt it's my first one and it sets up the story for forthcoming levels - it's called "Mother from Hell volume 1" by "Astronomer666", and if you like it, look out for Mother from Hell volume 2, coming soon

Re: Little Big Planet: User created levels- The good, bad, and the ugly

LBPcentral.com has "highlighted" 100+ levels to date, and they are all amazing in one way or another. That should keep anybody busy for a while.

I haven't created a level in quite a bit...just catching up on my backlog...need to jump back in and contribute sometime.
