Baraka (blu-ray)

This blu-ray disc is being released next week. I have ordered it because of all the hype I have read about it. I have never seen the movie and am looking forward to watching it in HD.

Is it really as good as the hype around it?

yes, I blind buyed the Baraka DVD the other day. Baraka is the best films out of all of those other naturey/world films. Great camerawork and awesome soundtrack...If I ever buy a Blu Ray player, my first two dvds will be Baraka and The Fall.

I'm in the vast, vast minority on the video quality of Baraka. While I think it deserves "top marks" in the quality of transfer, I don't think it's any more sharper or detailed than other Blu-rays that have gotten the "reference quality" label.

Does it look great? Yes. Does it look better than, say, the Blu-rays of "No Country For Old Men"; "2001"; or some other top-notch video presentations? Not really.
