Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update Thursday 10/23

Here's a shout-out for this week's episode....

How about that reunion of Ferrell, Fey, and Hammond in the cold open?

And that Fred Armisen demonstration of the interactive map was funny!

I have realy liked these 1/2 hour shows the past few weeks. I think SNL may want to think about just doing this show and get rid of the long booooring show on Saturday.

The skits move along faster - because they don't need to stretch it out to fill time - you laugh, it gets to the point, they move on!

Will Ferrel (sp?) is always good.

First part was great. Weekend Update was, as usual, not funny.

My god - they brought back "Fix It!" for a 2nd go-around!

They should do something about that recurring sketch with Black Guy as the economist. It doesn't quite work for me.

they need to FIX IT. enjoyed the bit first time around (thought it was the right length), not so much the second time. opening was great, rest of the show was ok, i taped it and thought it worked well as a late night talk show substitute.

The "Jam the Vote" segment was great, although they should have broken up throughout the show rather than running it all at once.

I when Samberg threw up on the sound guy, who then started throwing up himself. Then again a little later when he asks for something to eat somebody hands him the hot dog.

Can you say "desperation"? I knew they would bring it back. They are going to beat it do death, then beat it some more. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the next SNL movie.

SNL's long history of running a good bit into the ground. Once was enough.

Fred Armisen's originality continues to amaze me.

His deaf/blind comic bits. Nicholas Fein the "newspaper" comic.

Spoiler:
It wasn't a real recording -- it was Amy and Seth!

Even though I find absolutely nothing Will Ferrell does funny. I have to give credit where it's due, the cold open made me laugh. Alot.

The open with Will Ferrell was golden.

The rest of Weekend Update was "ok," but still not near as funny as other news shows like The Daily Show. I'm not sure why, either, given the fact that they have longer to write Weekend Update. Ah well, still better than nothing, I guess.

Fred with that map was damn funny; it's not far at all from whatever they're trying to do with that interactive map on CNN. Except this is cooler -- I can see a warehouse!
