Gran Torino (2008, Eastwood)

Details here

Eastwood is starring and directing, and the premise and screenwriter of the film is as yet undetermined. It's apparently set for a December release. There's four possible scenarios to what this could possibly be:

1. A final Dirty Harry movie. Sure, he's 78 and I'm hard-pressed to name any police detectives collecting social security, but since we've already seen Rocky, Rambo, Die Hard, and Indiana Jones get revivals, Harry Callahan could be a possibility.

2. Another Western. Unforgiven was his goodbye letter for Leone and Don Siegel, but perhaps this is maybe a No Country for Old Men-esque morality tale.

3. Something about cars.

4. Something that I haven't mentioned already.

Feel free to spill your theories!

Eastwood will play a curmudgeonly old coot who is brought out of retirement for some reason. In the course of events, somebody will die -- but probably not his character.

Please be a racing movie, that would be bad-ass.

Every Which Way But Loose 3 - Still truckin' and gettin' in punch-ups. Sadly, Clyde has passed on, but Clint had him stuffed and mounted as a hood ornament.

Maybe it's about the Winter Olympics from a couple of years ago.

I thought he said he was never gonna act again. Million Dollar Baby would be his last.

He was offered Tommy Lee Jone's role in The Valley of Elah and said no more acting.

So much for that.

In The Line of Fire 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't mind seeing another actor take over the role of Dirty Harry with Eastwood directing.

I'm actually certain that this project is either 2 Crime, the sequel to True Crime, or Blood Work 2: There Will Be Blood Work.

Perhaps a monkey movie...Eastwood womping on hippies? A final showdown with Heston for right to the presidency of the NRA?

In all seriousness, Dirty Harry could be cool, but a racing movie or a western would be awesome.

Well, I don't think it's a Dirty Harry movie, because Warner would probably hold off on releasing the boxed set until the new movie comes out.

Maybe he meant no more acting in poorly written, agenda films.

I dont really care what it is. Getting two Eastwood films in one year is awesome. And /film.com is reporting that Clint WILL be starring in this one as well as directing!

No more acting, eh? Maybe he's playing himself.

I think I have it figured out...

Million Dollar Baby 2: The Resurrection

Spoiler:
Hilary Swank's character returns from the grave to exact revenge on the boxer who made her a quadriplegic, who was possibly the film's largest plot hole. Eastwood is forced to reconcile with Freeman to go into action to make sure justice is served accordingly.

Sounds like a great idea, but he directed SUDDEN IMPACT and that except for the diner scene is not a good movie.

I can't wait to see what this is, Eastwood is my favorite actor and I was hoping he'd act in at least one more film. I would love for it to be a western.
