Need Help with a Movie Term.

Hey all - i'm looking for a term that describes the transition of music in movies - specifically when a song in movie makes the transition from being heard on the soundtrack to a song heard by characters in the movie as source music, usually something playing on a radio. I came upon a term some time ago which described this transition, but damed if i can remember it.
Thanks for any help.
