Requiem for a Dream: Director's Cut or Edited Versiom

IIRC, there were only a few very minor changes between the directors cut and the R-rated version. The ones that I can remember are:
Can't really think of anything else.
And yes I liked the movie. One of the most intense and emotional movies I've ever seen. It's one that stays with you for days after watching it.

Id go with the Directors Cut since its supposedly the definitive cut. I wouldnt say i liked the movie, because its the only movie i wont watch again after the effect it had on me, but i will say it is a superb movie that is well acted and shot.

Director's Cut. From my understanding, the edited cut doesn't come with any special features either (Aaronofsky was pissed about there being a "Blockbuster" version).
Cool, entertaining movie that I've seen many times.

^I didnt think the longer version of The Punisher was an official Director's Cut though. Just one of those "Extended Editions" where they through in all the deleted scenes to make it sound new and different and milk a title for all it's worth. Much like Sony does with things like The Patriot or Donnie Brasco.

Loved the movie, but I didn't even notice the difference until someone pointed it out to me. BTW I believe the edited version DVD is barebones while the unrated has the bonus features.

There's a reason it's called the "Edited Version". It means someone who is not the filmmakers took the movie and cut stuff out of it. When the title rolls down it even says EDITED VERSION beneath it. In this particular case it's similar to watching the censored version, the abridged version, the truncated version. Bad idea.

The "director's cut" of Requiem for a Dream is what was shown in theaters. I don't know why anyone would want to see an alternate cut, except out of curiosity.

Not at all. Although I watch the exended version of Robocop from time to time I still prefer the Theatrical R-rated cut as a film because it is seen more from Murphy's perspective and the violence, though trimmed a couple seconds here and there, hits harder imo. The extended has some good stuff but it also has some unnecesary additions like that hilariously fake-looking bit with the Murphy mockup dummy and a couple alternate reaction shots and takes that I think worked better in the original.
