High School Musical 3
It's getting closer! In a genius marketing movie Disney has actually teamed up with Jib Jab (who have strayed pretty far from their roots) for this gem: http://sendables.jibjab.com/category...hool_musical_3 ... this is gonna have a huge opener.

The first High School Musical is great if you watch it back-to-back with "Elephant".

That sold me right there! I mean, how could they possibly extend the story any further?

I've unfortunately had the HSM3 trailer on a loop in the lobby of my theater for several weeks now. When did children's entertainment become so puerile? I was just watching Sleeping Beauty and it still holds up. Where are the timeless classics for today? Aside from Pixar, of course.
Also, am I the only one who thinks these movies have very obvious gay overtones? I'm not saying that as a slur, but I do know these movies have a large gay following and it's not just because they're musicals.

A pretty positive from Entertainment Weekly:

I don't have much to say about the quality of the movies, but I just played Sharpay in a professional stage production of HSM1, and we had 100-300 kids waiting after every show for our autographs...and I'm certainly not Ashley Tisdale!
The kids really, really love this franchise and I'm glad it's getting a big fancy finale. Although it was a little upsetting that so many girls came up to me and said how much they wanted to be just like bratty, selfish, manipulative (but fashionable) Sharpay. So wrong.
