My FYE sold out on the first day, so it all depends on your area if you can still find it.

Ummm... Incorrect. The Blu-Ray SteelBook isn't available in the United States, but the SD SteelBook, which he is clearly selling, is most certainly available at FYE, Suncoast, Sam Goody, Coconuts, or any other TWEC-brand store in the United States. Quit peddling nonsense.

Really? So was the copy I reserved, as well as a bunch of other people at my store and here on the Forum, a total fluke?

If there are no FYE's up where ever, I don't see how you got a copy unless someone else sold it to you. FYE doesn't carry the steelbook on their website

What is the deal with him selling it for that much? The rebate is over as of 10/04/08, so if you weren't able to get it by then, you will pay about $26.99+tax for it, and that is if you can still find it at a TWEC store. Add shipping to that, and he is only asking for a few dollars over what it is going for right now, if it can be found. When I picked up mine that I had reserved, there were only 5 on the shelves, and that was in the afternoon on release day.

Yeah this is pretty ridiculous. He can sell it for as much as he pleases. If someone buys it, so be it.

I think it's the fact he was trying to claim you couldn't buy it anywhere except for Future Shop which was more ridiculous.. not his asking price.

That would require a second look, because butterbean and mi_robi are in fact are not one and the same person.
