The Shield -- "Genocide" -- 9/23/08

The Shield

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Following a fire at the Armenian safe house that killed two of his lieutenants, Rezian asks Vic to set up a meeting with the Mexicans, who think (thanks to Vic) that the Armenians have Pezuela's blackmail box. Meanwhile, an angry Cassidy goes to Danny with questions about her father; and Dutch questions a teenager who shot an intruder, who turns out to be the youth's classmate. Rita: Frances Farmer.

Meh... I'm enjoying Dutch and Billings more than this Mexican/Armenian drama.

Meh for me as well. I want to change the channel every time Cassidy, Dani or Cathy Ryan is on my TV screen.

And Shane is right - Vic doesn't need Pezuela to get out of the Armenian pickle and just fucking things up for everyone else by trying to save his job.

Yes, me too. Only Dutch could take a simple home invasion case and find a potential serial killer. The cats in his neighborhood are already trembling with fear.

Except the "family" cylinder. That bitch blew the piston right out the damn car. I haven't hated a television daughter this much since Kim Bauer was attacked by a cougar. At least SHE was easy on the eyes, though. Not only do we have to sit through TERRIBLE acting, but we have to put up with it coming from a mongoloid amazon with unrealistic career goals. Your dad was the commish and Vic Mackey. Doesn't make you the next Glenn Close, kid. Do yourself a favor: Go to college.

She's not quite 15, yet she towers over her father. That's gotta suck.

Can someone explain this for me...I missed it.

Also, something about this season is just not up to par with previous seasons. I cant place it yet and it may just be the long layoff...who knows. Either way I am in til the end.

Thanks!

Apparently Pezuela had something in the blackmail box on her and she is in his pocket. So Aceveda and Mackey realized that they are likely on Cruz's hit list now because the fed likely fed him information on their plan.

Olivia was in the "blackmail box" which means she's basically working for the cartel and has been feeding info back to them. It's why she claimed to have no idea who that one guy was.

Shit didn't see that coming. It's amazing how Vic is keeping track of all this manipulation. He's gonna slip sooner or later. If he could only let Pezuela go, maybe he'd even be able to take care of the Armenians.

Well it doesn't pull me away from the show or the story at all, so it doesn't bother me. And it is a small portion (that last what 3-4 mins max?) of the show, so no biggie.

How have they exposed themselves to her other than asking about that one guy - was there anything else? That question could be passed off as them just trying to get some background on who they were dealing with.

You know.. if they ever do decide to do some spin off show, I would watch Dutch & Billings weekly.

Nice that Vic gets back at the City Controller, too.

I still think this is going down the path where Cassidey kills Vic.

That would be right up there with the Sopranos for worst series finales ever.

Considering the Vic "tipped" her off to the guy (Aramboles) that had the box to begin with on an arms raid, I'd say she gave Pazuela enough info about who actually may have the intel box.

as much as i absolutely hate spin offs, this is one case where i'd completely support it 100%. seems like Dutch has almost become the second primary character on the show, due to how well his character is written. i love any time he's on screen.

Are we going to see the Serial Killer kid pop up again in the last few episodes? I hope so, I'm interested to see where they take it.

Yep. It could be a detective drama rarely if ever seen on tv - a long term dysfunctional partnership where 1 detective is basically mailing it in and counting the days toward retirement: a true police odd couple.
