That's why I said I 'get' it, I just don't agree with it since solo play is a more relaxed affair.

Are fans used for anything in this game other than opening up new venues or challenges? There's not an achievement this time and that was the only thing I remember them being used for in RB1 - though I always had more than enough bands before we had the required star and performance (per city) counts.

We started up our new band last night. Oddly enough, it told us the names 'Dirk Diggler', 'Buck Swope', and 'Rollergirl' were inappropriate for XBox Live play. Lame.

However, it did let us name our band 'The Moustache Rides', with band members 'Tom Selleck' and 'Rollie Fingers'.

Signed up for this last night: http://www.stridelovesrockband.com/

They're giving away 20,000 DLC tracks.

Just got an email with a code saying I won one. Wheee.

Ok, so there is one, but other than that, is there any use for fans that will hold you back after requisite stars and performances?

Hey guys,

I lurk a lot but mainly post over at another forum. Been enjoying RB2 immensely since yesterday.

Regarding Party Mode (where only the band leader has control in menus), how do I access this? Is it an unlockable? How exactly does it work?

I've been hoping for this for a while now since our RB parties almost certainly have one or more drummers enthusiastically pounding away before a song. We're back to the start screen before we know it.

Strangely, I didn't get that message with my solo band, even though I got that complaint in RB1. So, I guess Crip or Tard? lives.

Well I got an email with a code that I'm to redeem in the Xbox Live Marketplace. There's no mention of a specific song in the email, so perhaps it is just enough points to pick whatever track I want?

I'm at work now but will enter the code just as soon as I get home.

I'm not sure if this is taking into account gold stars (only Expert can go over 5), or what. We've been playing them mainly on Expert only.
Then I feel like David taking out Goliath as I ended up beating your band during the Steve Miller battle.

Haven't even played the Steve Miller song yet. Must've been someone else.

EDIT: Or maybe I did and I just don't remember it. What Challenge was that?

From another forum, it looks like that Stride Gum thing just sends you a code for 160 MSP.

I'm planning on making an all girl band. I've only created a guitarist and drummer so far. My band name is Girls on Trampolines. I don't really care for the band logo generator. I'd prefer the ability to upload my own file.

Did RB2 add the ability to background download songs from the Music Store? I can't stand that I have to sit there and look at the progress bar - even though it's less than a minute, I could be perusing other songs, or playing.

No, I believe it goes to a maximum of 18, unless Gold Star is 7 songs. You can get 6 stars (perfect) on Medium.

I beat Emerald Frosion in a challenge. Please don't replay it it will be the only time my band beats you.

Oh? I dunno.. I just played it on one of the tour stages. I didn't pay attention since I was already frustrated being on tour. I was just trying to power thru as many songs as I could. Before I started the Marathon Challenges.

Yeah, the logo creator is limited. I created a female drummer, Susanna Dean for all those Dark Tower Fans... Once I get around to other characters, I'll likely create Eddie, Jake and Roland too

I support this notion (both the custom upload and Girls on Trampolines, for the record), but we all know the custom upload would only be visible to people on your friends list, if at all.

I assume Susanna is the drummer.
