Re: The Bridge...suicide film

I watched this today. Not a bad flick. Very very eerie. I wish there were more statistics relating to the bridge itself though.

Re: The Bridge...suicide film

It was OK. Watching the main guy scared to jump the entire film only to provide the "coolest" suicide in the film was the most eerie.

I think I'm going to hell for that last sentence, but oh well.

Re: The Bridge...suicide film

I felt that the people they chronicled were very uninteresting people in the first place which made it hard to care. That main guy was the worst I was cheering him on by the end.

Re: The Bridge...suicide film

Maybe it just had to do with the kinds of families that agreed to be interviewed for the film, but I found all the survivors very passive in a sort of, "Yeah, they kept talking about it, and one day they did it, and I guess that's what happens to people who feel that way....etc". I never got the impression that any of them (even the parents of the suicides) ever sat down with the people while they were still alive and had a blunt and clear talk about mistakes that can't be undone.

I can't say I've been in the exact personal situation, and I don't have all the answers, but it seems everyone in the documentary had a very hands-off approach to dealing with people in trouble.
