Circuit City Prices: August 24 - August 30, 2008

Hello DVDTalkers!

I’ve got the Circuit City circular for 8/24/08 - 8/30/08 in my hands.

Please be aware of the following:
  • No Interest / No Payments For 90 Days on laptop & desktop computers $249 & UP
  • No Interest For 36 Months on All TVs / Home Theaters / Firedog Installations $999 & UP
  • All TVs $799 & UP are on sale this week.
  • 18 Months No Interest on all camcorders $399 & UP
  • GAMERS: The Wii IS listed in this week’s ad on Page # 10 // Limited Quantities // No rain checks // Limit 1 per household // Minimum 8 per store // Vouchers will be handed out 1 hour prior to store opening
  • GAMERS: Get a Free XBOX 360 wireless controller with the purchase of any XBOX 360 Gaming System // Free controller = $49.99 value // Controller color may vary by store
  • All New Release CDs / DVDs are listed as being available on 8/26/08
  • From time to time special deals / prices will be listed in the Store Notes Section & in the product price thread that may or may not be available in your specific geographic area. This is due to Regional Market Variations of the nationwide ads that I post and as such, not all deals / prices will be available in all Circuit City stores. Please note that this version of the Circuit City ad originates in the Northeast.

As always, ask any questions (except about laptops) and I'll respond as soon as I can.

A wonderful heartfelt thanks goes out to Uber barmaid supreme Tanya at the Cadillac Lounge in Providence, Rhode Island where her outstanding service & professionalism made for an extremely pleasant visit to that establishment. I hope to see you again soon

Welcome back speedy!

A quick question regarding the $15 Mad Men set, is it in the "lighter" style packaging? If so, looks like it'll be Nightmare Before Christmas & Mad Men for my week.

Easy mistake. Their plots are very similar, too.

Great to see you back, Speedy. Thanks as always for posting.

I'm definitely getting the Nightmare Before Christmas 2 disc dvd w digital copy. I'm waiting for all the reviews of Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning. If it is a typical Disney dtv cheapquel I'll pass BUT if it's a decent movie (not just an electronic babysitter) I will probably buy it. I want to know first that it is a quality release & not another lame attempt to separate every parent from $15.

I was wondering the same thing. As much as I DON'T want to spend $100+ on it, I just love that movie so much and cannot resist the set; although I would like to see it in person before purchasing. Amazon seems to have the cheapest at $116.99 with Free Shipping. Circuit City and Best Buy both have it for Pre-Order at $129.99. If it's available in stores I might get it there despite the cost difference, but for some reason I seriously doubt if it will be in stores. Perhaps those of us interested should order it from Amazon before it goes OOP.

in case this helps...

i do think stores will have a limited # of these though. they had Planet of the Apes among some other pricey ones, this should not be an exception.

Thanks scott, I did see those but wanted to see the actual package in-store if possible. Either way I may just get it on Amazon, because pending a price drop come ad day, Amazon is by far the cheapest I've seen it.

i thought so too, but now that they charge tax, with shipping, i'd be more likely to get in-store rather than worry about a set like this being in transit and paying the $2.00 or so extra for peace of mind.

This item would qualify for free shipping; but my main concern would, same as you, be it getting damaged in shipment...although when you think about it, I imagine the same or more care goes into shipping from Amazon to you as does manufacturer to Best Buy.
