Rumor: Xbox 360 60GB $299, Elite 120GB $399 September - With Pics!

Credit goes to HDD:
http://forums.highdefdigest.com/game...ml#post1134478

I scanned the 60 gig and the Elite today with my RMU (retail management unit) to see what events are coming up and it show the 60 gig is dropping to $299.99 and the Elite is dropping to $399.99

It didn't give a date for the Elite and that means it could happen tomorrow but im not sure about that yet.

Now the 60 gig said it will be $299.99 in the Sep. 7/08 weekly ad.
I dont have the ad yet but Ill try to get one we get them next week.

Pics via the link!

Looks like a nice price drop. It makes me wonder about the Arcade model though, and what the new price will be for it. There is no way they can leave it at $279 with the 60GB at $299. I know there was a rumor that it was going to go to $199. That would be great if true, but $229 is probably more reasonable since the other models only dropped $50.

$199 plus a 2nd hand 20G drive makes for a pretty cheap serviceable 360.

If that's the case, I think I may pickup an elite so I can move to HDMI...

Nice that there is a price drop but why the $100 price difference between the 60gb and the Elite? Is a black coat of paint and 60gb worth a 100 buck difference?

Doesn't it also add HDMI?

I'd like to see the 120GB add on hard drive drop below $100.

Pretty much its just a black console, black controller, and 60GB more space. That's it.

It's dropping to $150 but you can get a 120GB off ebay for right around $100. I got mine for $95 shipped.

This is not an arbitrage opportunity, but for hardcore downloaders (RB/GH and others), this would be a good opportunity to sell your XBOX now and upgrade in a few weeks to the larger hard drive, HDMI, new chips, etc....

I just got a brand spanking new 360 from sending in my 360. Made in May 2008. No HDMI.

So they still make them w/o and reserve 'em for RROD people.

Michael,

That probably have a built up supply of the older ones.

Maybe, but the fact remains that it has a 5/08 manufacture date. Seems odd to me.

Maybe that is the remanufatctured/refurbed date... or the date they manufactured that label... I don't believe the date on the back of the replacement unit I got last year... it was supposedly newer by that date... but was loud and had an older DVD drive.

I noticed Best Buy has the 20GB for $259.99 online.

$199.99 for the ARCADE also.
