Ok, I don't think permanent bands are going to work out, so this will just be a list of who plays what role on what platform/game. Open to format changes, so feel free to chime in.

Also, someone (I forget who at this point) set up a dummy XBL account called DVDTalk Rocks. If you add this account to your friends list, you will be able to access its friends list to see many other DVDTalk Rockers that you may not have already added. The only downside to this (at least with Rock Band 1/2) is that you can't tell what instrument they are playing. One month away until the first online-band game, Rock Band 2, drops to all of us. I figured it might be a good idea to have a central location for all the wonderfully awesome bands we make. Working with incomplete information at this time, I'm just going to assume a band consists of the following:

1) Game (Rock Band or Guitar Hero: World Tour)
2) Platform (360, PS3, Wii)
3) A Name
4) Lead Vocalist
5) Lead Guitarist
6) Lead Bassist
7) Lead Drummer
8) VGTalk Battle Record

Maybe more, we'll see if it works. If there are other things we want to track, I'm all for it here. I'm thinking of creating "Band Cards" or something similar. Haven't thought much about it, but maybe something like (yes, I realize it sucks, but it was just a quick example):

Take me for example, I'm a decent Hard guitarist, can hang on expert for most the low-mid level songs. However I realize that I'm far from the tops around here, but I think I could make a good bassist / rhythm guitarist if anyone will have me.

I definitely don't mind subbing in for people every now and then, but do have a dedicated local band (in RB) that I put most of my time into. We'll be doing the endless setlist on RockMergence Day, hopefully. We've got a room booked at work that has a projector and can seat about 80 people, so we hope to gather a crowd, as well as potential subs for when we need to take a piss or whatnot.

I will be having GH:WT on Wii.
If the WT devices are compats with RB1/2 then I will get those discs later.

I am 95% done with Hard and 71% done on Expert GH3. I can play lead, rhythm, or bass.
I have no clue how I will do on drums yet. But will be playing drums also.

Nice thread title.

I'm mainly a drummer, and I can get through all songs in RB on Hard and many/most on Expert. I'm also a decent guitarist (completed Hard mode in RB and most of Hard mode in GH3).

I definitely plan to get Rock Band 2, and I will probably get the disc-only version of GH:WT (assuming that RB2 instruments, not just RB1 instruments, will work with it). I'll be on the 360 for both of these games.

Actually last night I checked what you were playing a few times over the course of a couple hours. Every time I checked it was Constant Motion. I love Dream Theater and I love Rock Band but I couldn't even handle that.

I'd be down to join a band. I five starred all of the normal songs in rock band and gold starred 1/3 of them or so. I didn't get nearly as into it as GH either since I could never find people to play with me locally. I'd gladly do bass if someone joins that is better than me at guitar. I suck at drums, wouldn't even think of attempting vocals...

I'll mostly be playing RB2. Maybe GH4. I've completed the RB expert guitar career, and have beat all of the DLC I've bought except Ride the Lightning, Constant Motion, and Sleepwalker. I have 4 or 5 stars on most songs, and a few gold. I don't mind playing bass either. I'm pretty good with drums. I've beat hard career, but am still stuck on Fall Out Boy on expert. I mostly get 3 and 4 stars on expert drums, with a few 5 stars. Definately looking to play with some people online, as my local friends don't play that often. I have a roommate, so it would probably be best if I played guitar/bass, since it's quieter than the drums. I usually wear headphones when I play, if she's home. When she finally moves out, the stereo will be cranked all the time.

Yeah it was on all night - I'd go upstairs and watch some women's gymnastics and come down during the commercial breaks and leave it on downstairs because I'm lazy... But it was at least 12 tries before I got a good run... and it's still about 10K lower than PriestMLH's sight read!
