MTV HD and VH1 HD the most worthless HD channels?

Agree or disagree?

Anyone notice none of the shows on MTV HD or VH1 are actually broadcast in HD?

I don't think either channel has one show in HD since their lineup is filled with reality shows.

Maybe they might show the VH1 Rock Honors in HD but that is about it.

The Hills is probably shot in HD, that would give mtv something to broadcast.

Are there actually channels called "MTVHD" and "VH1HD"? I have some channel labeled as "MTVHD" which is actually in HD, but the on-screen ID bug doesn't call it that.

MHD rules. Don't have MTV HD or VH1 HD though. TBS-HD is good for MLB games though.

Huh, I don't get those in my area. However, I don't watch either so this isn't really a loss for me.

When you guys say HD, do you mean broadcasting in 720p or higher widescreen, or that all of the programming is HD (even if it is 4:3)?

MHD is okay, but they need to expand the catalog a bit. I think I've seen the Isle of Wight festival and the Rock Honors awards 500 times by now.

Soundstage
Crossroads
MTV Live Set
Storytellers
Gorillaz
Soundstage
12 hour block of music videos that relate to one of the 10 artist they play on the channel

Still entertaining

In order to expand their content, MTV & VH1 would have to film more musical performances, and we all know that's not going to happen.

I think someone forgot to tell them they were being given HD channels.

Seriously, it's been almost a year since DirecTV allocated bandwidth and called them HD, but they have yet to produce or air a single program in HD. Even something you'd think would be a no-brainer like the MTV Music Video (haha) Awards. I noticed Sin City was on MTV last weekend. Yep, SD & 4x3.

These + CMT are the most worthless channels out there. At least TNT and the stretch-o channels do occasionally show something in HD.

I thought that TBS and TNT had gotten better about showing actual HD content in the past year? I used to flip past the channel all the time and see 4:3 movies stretched, but I haven't seen that in a while.

Every time I flip by TBS, All I ever seem to see is Seinfeld stretched from 4:3 to 16:9. Drives me crazy...

They've gotten MUCH better. Sure, stretch-o-vision still occurs, but not nearly as often as before. As of now I'd say the worst is either AMC-HD or MyHD.

Supposedly, MHD will expand its programming next month, when it changes its name to Palladia.

With respect to TNT and TBS, I think the only time I ever watch either of those channels is during the MLB playoffs, and they are HD, so they aren't worthless to me.

Neither does TWC, but at least they have Mad Men available in HD on demand.
