New Priceline Commercial -- New Trek Movie Hint?

I was watching TV today and saw a Priceline commercial with Shatner driving a car with a passenger in the backseat who looked a lot like Robert Pine, who was the captain in CHIPS and is the father of Chris Pine, who's playing Kirk in the new film due out next May.

I found this a curious coincidence. I know all parties involved say Shatner will not be in this new film, but there are constant rumors that his appearance is a well-kept secret.

What think you all?

They were also in an old TV movie together back in the '70's...

Dark Street maybe? I don't really remember.

Robert Pine did an episode of both Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise as well.

I'm among those that think Shatner is in the new movie...probably something that "future Spock" does in the past to assure the Captain is still alive when he returns to the future. All speculation on my part, of course...I'm not privy to anything JJ is planning.

I wasn't aware that he'd worked with Shatner before, or that he was in Voyager or Enterprise.

Still, fingers crossed--I'd like to see Nimoy and Shatner together, even if for only afew minutes.

I'm sure the Priceline.com people have a lot of studio pull at Paramount.

I was thinking more along the lines that Shatner asked Priceline to cast Robert Pine because he's struck up a friendship while working with Chris Pine on the new film.
