What am I gonna do with my wee-battery operated TVs when the digital thing kicks in?

Use them for a Paperweight?
(BTW: I hope this is the correct forum to post this. I mean, 'DVD & Home Theater' Re: Battery operated TVs? I don't think so. 'Tech Talk'? They're all PC & Cameras and junk like that. TV Talk? Well, that's where I THOUGHT it belonged, and I posted it there but they all just ignored me. So here it is, and here I am. I did a search everywhere and hope it was good enough because I found nothing on this subject...so please BE GENTLE with me if I missed it!)
Will they even WORK anymore?
You see, I bought them for those emergency times when the power in the neighborhood goes out (like in an earthquake or riot or what have you), and that way I could keep a 'visual' eye on what's happening in my part of the woods by watching the local news.
Just give it to me straight.
Will they be useless as televisions?

That's NOT in ANY WAY to say that I USED to (or still do) have them.

There maybe some low power stations that will still broadacast but the majors will be digital and thus not able to be received by any tv that lacks either a digital tuner or a converter box.

When has one of your discussions ever stayed on topic?
Besides I wasn't the first one to bring up the subject of dolls, or confess to having a Barbie fetish.
I'll try to get back on topic. That's a cute little television you have THEEK. It might become a collectable in the future. Looks like a real man's set.
Here's a photo of one of the televisions.

Sure, my threads have a habit of going off topic, but NOT in the HOME THEATER FORUM!!!
Look. I appreciate all of your pretty pictures, but we're disrupting the forum with all this Monkey Shining! Think of the Home Theater Forum as an Operating Room, and they're performing Brain Surgery.
If it were a Loved One of yours, you certainly wouldn't want a couple hooligans running around the room, bumping into the table and yelling and screaming and throwing naughty pictures around, WOULD YOU???
Well then, I'm glad you understand and see things MY WAY.

Analog stations in Canada and Mexico will still be on the air for some time to come. Here in CA I've occasionally gotten signals from both of them overtaking channels 2 and 4 at my parents' house (they have a big antenna with a rotor).

Thanks, Alan!
Spiky: Actually, yes.
I would feel it is safe to say that most of you that 'hang out' here in DVD Talk's HTF are professionals and hold great wisdom for the masses.
Hey Spiky! You know...You're right! I could donate them to the Smithsonian! It might be interesting just to see what the HELL they'll do with 'em.

Okay, Okay!
You may be checking that mailbox for some time to come!
Look. All I know is if I've EVER had a HT question, there has ALWAYS been 'someone' here to help me out and usually in just one or two replies!
(Like Brian's post for example. Thanks, B! )
...and I believe a lot of the times that 'someone' WAS YOU, MR. SPIKY!!!

I was thinking, maybe people with projectors would want one. I use a little 5" monitor when I want to set something up and nothing more. Bad juju to turn your projector on for a minute at a time. I'll bet someone would pay at least a nickel.
Only if it had a video input, of course.

Shouldn't be a problem. Many parts of Europe have digital broadcasting only at this time, and a lot of people only have old TV's with analog tuners. That is solved by a set-top box receiving the signals, and just send the picture to your TV.
