Is Amy Poehler going to return to SNL for the 2008-2009 season?

I heard she might star in a spinoff of the Office.

Is this just a rumor or will she return to SNL in September or possibly do double duty?

I think she is also pregnant.

They are starting the season early on Sept 13 and usually they wait until October.

I think they want to get in some more political sketches before the election.

She's on the show until the election, then she'll leave for her new show (not an Office spin-off, but made by the same people).

Let's hope she has half the success of Cheri Oteri.

If Hillary got the nomination and won the presidency, she would definitely do one more season. I remember Darrell Hammond wanting Al Gore to win in 2000, not for his politics, but he would lead off so many skits as President Gore for the next 4 years.

You don't like Amy's Sharon Osbourne or Madonna impressions?

I think I am in the minority but I prefer if she stayed on SNL.

I thought she would follow Darrell Hammond and be on the show for 10 or more seasons.

Thank god....Little Tina will finally be gone so they can move on from the far left influence Fey still had on the cast.

Have you seen that hyperactive girl character? I think some of her stuff is pretty good, but she's too dominant on the show and can be awful annoying sometime.

SNL is not always bad.

Some people probably don't follow pop culture and the jokes go over their heads and the NY audience is usually always tough or cynical or just plain dumb.

I remember when Alec Baldwin did that Santas elves sketch about Glengarry Glen Ross and nobody in the audience got the joke.

It would be funny if Poehler breaks out with her new show and everyone says she is a comic genius like they did with Tina Fey.

I really like both Poehler and Fey. I love 30 Rock, and hope the new Poehler show is half as good.

Is anyone around here a fan of the Upright Citizens Brigade series?
I suspect that Poehler's baby will be born addicted to Supercool.

Amy was not in a lot of the sketches last year.

Kristen Whig is the worst.

She has the 2 most annoying characters on the show the Target Cashier and that one girl who keeps mumbling and repeating what other people say.

The only thing I Like Whig in is that character on weekend update Aunt Sally or whatever where she mocks movies.

I would not mind if she left the show.

Who would replace Amy on Weekend Update?

I saw season 1 of the Citizens Brigade

This would all make sense if Poehler were the head writer of the show....but she's not.

I could be wrong as I've only read 3 or 4 books on SNL, but the show has always had a "Far left influence".

Fred Armisen? Will Forte? Bill Hader? Jason Sudeikis? Kristen Wiig?

I like Armisen, Forte, Hader, and Sudeikis but Wiig is not funny.

She has the most annoying repeating characters on the show.

Must be an acquired taste, because my wife and I think she's hilarious. those characters are funny precisely because they're so annoying. I can see how some people might not find them funny though.

Kristen Wiig does Penelope, Target Lady, 1/2 of the Annoying A-holes, Aunt Linda, the "I said-WE!" freak-girl ....She may not appeal to everyone's tastes, but damn if she isn't versatile.

Fred Armisen is SO underrated. His Gene Simmons impression makes me laugh every time.

Wiig, Poehler, and an honorable mention for departed Mya Rudolph are all great performers. I think people are letting the stink of SNL's overall crappiness rub off on the actors who are in fact great performers.

People need faces for their hate.

Whenever Penelope or the Target Lady appears I know it is going to be a bore.

I like Armison but he should ditch the character where he reads the newspaper during weekend update.
