New Adventures of Old Christine Question

I've recently discovered this show on DVD and it's terrific. But I'm confused about something. In the first ep, OC's son knows about his dad and NC. But then around episode 8ish, OC is pissed about her son meeting NC for the first time. Huh? And it's not like the episodes are out of order, because they're all at the school he joined in the first ep. How can a show make a continuity error like this?

For the lazy:
Episodes on the set are in broadcast order, which is usually the way you want to watch a show, but not in this case. CBS aired the episodes wildly out of order, which meant some characters were meeting for the first time in episode 9 after they had spent the previous 7 episodes hanging out, and there was an episode between two which should have been back-to-back. I've placed the episodes in the proper order below, and the numbers in front indicate the order on the set. You don't have to watch them in this order, but I think you'll enjoy it a lot more, and you won't encounter the inconsistencies I did:

1. Pilot (Disc 1)
9. Ritchie Has Two Mommies (Disc 2)
2. Supertramp (Disc 1)
12. Some of my Best Friends are Portuguese (Disc 2)
3. Open Water (Disc 1)
4. One Toe Over the Line, Sweet Jesus (Disc 1)
5. I'll Show You Mine (Disc 1)
7. Long Day's Journey Into Stan (Disc 1)
8. Teach Your Children Well (Disc 2)
10. No Fault Divorce (Disc 2)
11. Exile on Lame Street (Disc 2)
6. The Other F Word (Disc 1)
13. A Fair to Remember (Disc 2)

Wow, this thread is well-timed. I'd randmonly seen a few episodes of the current season on CBS and really liked the show so I had the first season in my Netflix queue

Thanks for the info.
