Joss Whedon's Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

Shocked to not already see a thread about this new three part internet show from Joss Whedon starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nate Fillion.

For those not aware: Joss is doing a free internet series which he and his family wrote during the writer's strike. It's three 15 minute segments. The first part went up this morning. Part two is supposed to go up Thursday and part three on Saturday. Then after a week or so I think they're being taken down. You can catch it at www.drhorrible.com or on itunes (but for a cost on itunes of course).

Thought the first part was great, had a bit of a slow start but definitely starting getting good when the we hit the first song. I'll keep this spoiler free but fans of Joss and especially of the Buffy musical episode should check this out.

Will be checking this out tonight.

Just to reinforce the OP's comment: the shorts are only "officially" available for a few short days. If you want to see this, do so now.

Buddy of mine showed me this yesterday. Anything with NPH or Nathan Fillion I'm down for. Both in a Joss Whedon musical? Gravy....

+1 Very good stuff. So essentially this will be about the length of an hour-long TV show sans commercials (~44 minutes). Can't wait to spread this to other Whedon fans I know!

That was wonderful!

"Balls."

Thanks OP. I had no clue this even existed.

Edit to add: Don't forget to read the Captain Hammer comic book online:

Finally was able to watch part 1. Talk about a plesant surprise! I laughed out loud at least 5 times during that short 15 minute stint.

Looking forward to parts 2 and 3 as well as whoring myself out for the dvd with extras.

My only slight complaint is that the music itself was very very similar to OMWF. That certainly isn't a bad thing to be compared to, but NPH = Buffy and NF = Spike. Minus the sex of course.

Available at ITunes. The whole season is 3.99, but they only have the first episode right now. I am getting it to watch on my Ipod while travelling.

The funnier part isn't the line, but the delivery!

Agreed that NPH makes it. First episode was decent. Second episode was great.

I waited to watch all three acts together, and it was worth the wait. What an ending, Joss got me.

I loved acts I and II, but was mixed on III, mostly because I don't think Captain Hammer's song worked and it was a big chunk of the act.

^ Not by Joss Whedon standards, which means I should have seen it coming.

It was brilliant.
