What artist would you like to see release a Greatest Hits/Box set collection on CD?

After seeing and hearing Billy Idol's new one, I'd like to see ones from:
Greatest Hits (CD/DVD combo):
Jewel
Kid Rock

Box sets (covering their whole career):
AC/DC
Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band
Madonna
Metallica

I would love to see Metallica, Prince and U2 do something like this AC/DC did it up to the Bon Scott years with the Bonfire set but it'd be great to see their later era covered since they are about to call it in a day now with their latest album.

It would also be nice to see Aerosmith do something like this also since Pandora's Box is awesome and it would be great to see their later years covered when they had their resurrection.

I also want the Rolling Stones do something similar to what the Beatles did with the Anthology sets

kid rock really? just go to itunes and grab his hits or better yet learn how to use bittorrent and save yourself a few bucks. kid puts on a great show though...i saw him open for aerosmith a few years back and it was a great time. his music is pretty awful though.

Post Scott AC/DC- Back in Black is killer. After that I'd like a best of the remaining albums.
Bob Welch era of Fleetwood Mac- never been that crazy about the albums but would like to get several songs(Bare Trees, Hypnotized, Sentimental Lady and couple others.)
Until a few days ago I'd have said Grand Funk Railroad- concentrating on the early power trio years(original studio LP versions), comprehensive like the Mark, Don, Mel vinyl LP. Amazon has most of the catalog on sale for 7.97 so I just bought all the albums.

a monstrous, complete U2 set would be fantastic. all the singles, b-sides, etc.

tom waits' "orphans" was nice, but they could remaster and make a great set with all of his output as well.

finally, the boss' output is way overdue for box set or remastering. gimme.

a Prince rarities box set is crucial, granted, he's given us Crystal Ball and The Vault, but we're talking someone who has at least 1000 unreleased tracks

Outkast released a Best Of in 2001, and Sonic Youth is releasing one that will be a Starbucks exclusive

Even though I already have most everything ever recorded by Elliott Smith I'd still go for a Box Set.
Also I'd like to see box sets of Elvis Costello's catalog.

Well, there's no Box set, but there have been lots of "Hits" compilations over the years, including the one that just came out back in April - The Best Of UFO : 1971-1983.

But I'm with you on the box set. Still, been enjoying the new re-masters, though. Perhaps a box set will follow?

We really need a Kinks box set. There have been a few anthologies, but nothing definitive or career encompassing. A Lee Hazlewood box set would be nice as well. Also, is that Billy Idol collection any different from the one released a few years ago? For a guy who's released a grand total of one album in the last 15 years, he certainly seems to have been repackaged quite a bit.

I'd like to see a Jay-Z greatest hits package - preferably a 2 disk set.

I heard he can even record songs in the shitter. It's no wonder he has so many unreleased songs.

A large Kinks boxed set is in the works, according to Dave Davies, possibly including new songs.

Talk Talk needs a new Boxed Set.

Paliament/Funkadelic/P-Funk Allstars has had several unsuccessful attempts at a good boxed set. There's scads of good material to be collected out there. One comprehensive twenty disc (or something equally ridiculous) collection of George Clinton's work would be appreciated.

New Order, "Retro"'s highly conceptual format missed tons of good stuff.

Not one artist sets, but a bunch of indie record lables could use a boxed set. Creation, SST, Flying Nun (the current one is a mega-bucks import only), Touch and Go, Matador, a bigger Dischord Records one, Homestead ... even Sub-Pop etc, etc.

Roxy Music's four disc set needs a reformatting, expansion and relaunch. They were one of the most consistent bands of all time.

Husker Du's albums desperately need to be cleaned up and a complete boxed set would be welcome.

There's a bunch more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

man I was thinking the same thing. I don't have all of his albums but I probably will pretty soon. Actually I don't know if I'll get Kingdom Come.

I want to see another volume of The Lost Tracks of Danzig.

I'd like Metallica to release a CD of all the covers they've ever done that aren't on Garage, Inc.

Marilyn Manson could use a rarities/b-sides CD seeing as how he has well over 30 tracks that are spread out on various singles or not released at all.
