Also noted, "Thriller: Complete Season One" for $15.95:

This is a 70s-era British show from Brian Clemens, creator of Danger Man and The Avengers. Can anyone recommend it? Online pricing ranges between $50-$80 for this set. Thanks for the original post.

The links you guys are posting include some sort of session information. I can see billing addresses and shopping carts that aren't mine.

Delete everything in the URLs between "filereader?" and "+EN"

I'm gonna delete the links and try to redo them.

When I click on the links I can't access my address at all.

What city were you guys seeing?

I had already fixed them. I think the city was San Francisco.

I can't believe you can't check online to see the status of an order, or if it was even placed. Would be helpful.

I happened to catch the session issue, and logged out, then logged back in, but I haven't received any confirmation of my order yet (but my card was authorized...ehhh). Hopefully it will work out.

Some great stuff rich-y. Thanks

Oh, also I ordered:

GUYS AND DOLLS, DELUXE EDITION
Item #7090471
$7.95

This is the cheapest I've seen it (Amazon is $21.99 right now, DeepDiscount is $18.xx I think). If you order it with the other stuff, the shipping is moot.

I ordered:

Thunderbirds Mega-Set
The Complete Hammer House of Horror
Guys And Dolls: Deluxe Edition

$67.55 shipped.

That's a pretty good price, but doesn't compare to the deal at Big Lots ($3).

It's very much a Hitchcock-style suspense series. I've seen the first three, and very good they are too. These ran in a 75-minute slot with commercials in the UK so the run time per episode is around 65 minutes.

However, it looks like there's little or no likelihood of the remaining episodes seeing the light of day in the USA, so the way to go for these is the massive 16-disc R2 set, which is currently selling for 40.97 at Amazon UK. Take 15% off that price and add around $6 for shipping and it's a veritable bargain IMHO at around $75.

Worthy of note are the two Romance Collection Megasets, selling for $39.95 each. Some great literary adaptations in these, including Tom Jones, The Flame Trees of Thika, Ivanhoe, and the widescreen version of the mid '90s Pride and Prejudice, which retails for $40 on its own anyway.

Kind of a crazy thing since I'm not from San Fran (or California for that matter).

I was hoping that if my address did show up that someone would order a gift package of DVDs for me. Ha!

Yeah, it would be great. But I'm sure you'll receive a confirmation soon.

Good thing about this company is that they've never left me in the lurch. Every order I placed with them was fulfilled flawlessly.

As a matter of fact, I check their website EVERY time I get ready to order a book - just in case they have it for cheap!

You probably originally got the session of the person whose link (or where they got the link, etc., etc.) and carried it over to here.

Does anyone have this: HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN: The Fairy Tales.

Includes 30 newly animated fairy tales. Welcome to a world of emperors, little mermaids, tinderboxes and flying trunks, along with ugly ducklings and wicked stepmothers. All ages. Nearly twelve hours on 9 DVDs. Published by Starlight Home Entertain.

It's 19.95 and a lot cheaper than anywhere else. I am having a hard time finding reviews of it though.

Not much in reviews at Amazon:

IMO, if you have kids, how can you go wrong for $20.00 though.

Saint can be found on eBay for a little cheaper (got mind for 29.99)
The Complete Hammer House of Horror is also 19.95 at oldies.com

Thunderbirds sounds pretty good though (remember paying 21.99 for TWO of the discs in the day!)

Not much in reviews from Amazon but new copies starting at $7 -- it would seem that if you can get it for $7, you would definitely "go wrong" by picking it up for $20.

Suspect the T-birds set is being blown out because of the recent re-release of the set as the "40th Anniversary" remaster. I gather the difference between the two sets is not that dramatic in terms of quality.

At least one of the Romance Collections is only $30 at Oldies:

Any other hot deals?

Probably that and the fact that the new packaging saves a ton of room on the stores shelves.

Today I was at Best Buy and noticed that A&E repackaged "Space 1999" to fit in the space of about 3 regular jewel cases. It used to be nearly as big as the Thunderbirds mega-set (about a foot long), but now features DVDs packed 2 discs per slim case. It used about 6 or 7 slim cases total.

The magazine Video Business News said that retailers have really started to complain about the size of these mega-sets and the studios are trying to keep them happy.

A&E has also recently re-packaged the first Romance Collection, so the second one will no doubt have its RRP halved soon too.

Oldies also has Edward & Mrs. Simpson for $14.95. Superb mini-series, though Costco packages it as an extra in one of the Romance Collections; don't think it's included from any other retailer.

Just an FYI, the Thunderbirds Megaset has shipped to me from Hamilton. Some of you ordered this and you probably received an OOS email. However, it is in stock now. If you haven't ordered but want this set, get it now. I doubt it will last.

They have the Cell Block H 1st collection for 7.95 and the cheapest I can find it is on deepdiscount for 33.19. They also have the 2nd collection for 14.95 which deepdiscount has for 30.36.

I might just order those by the end of the day.

Thanks!
