Which of these horror films would you "save?"

Rosemary's Baby (1968)
The Omen (1976)
The Exorcist (1973)

To me, this is a very difficult decision, as I consider all of them great, maybe for slightly different reasons.

All have great actors/actresses/ensembles.

All films have unbelievable plots that are made to be believable, both due to the story itself, and due to the performances. Mia Farrow stands out in Rosemary's Baby due to her innocence, her terror, and her strength. I adore her, and root for her, and love the ending where, although evil triumphs over good, she relents due to her station in life to the newborn. "You are his mother," Roman says to Rosemary when Rosemary says that Laura-Louise is rocking him too fast.

I like how strong the sense of denial can be for Ambassador Thorn in The Omen. How a series of horrible events can still dissuade a man from believing his child is evil. The strong love he has for his son Damien, despite the deaths that fall in his wake.

The Exorcist is unbelievable for its special effects (for 1973). How Reagan is transformed from cute little girl to horrible demon; the strong priest and the weak priest working together to combat an ancient foe. The ultimate sacrifice by the weak priest to redeem a life lead in doubt...

All wonderful films.

i enjoy all three but i'd probably rank them like this:

1) the exorcist
2) rosemary's baby
3) the omen

"The Exorcist"...first time i saw it was only a few months ago and it freaked me out. horror doesn't usually do it for me anymore, but when it does do something, it is something special.

i've seen all for the first time within the past year. "Rosemary's Baby" didn't do anything for me and "The Omen" was only so-so, not bad, but Exorcist just had this epic feel.

I picked The Exorcist. I saw it when I was a kid and it scared the sh*t out of me. As an adult I find it hilarious as do many of my friends. It's not scary anymore but still very entertaining.

This won't be the most popular pick, but I hold The Omen up as much better than the other two films (but I like all three).

Tough call. I'd probably give a slight edge to The Omen, with Rosemary's Baby in a close second. While The Exorcist is excellent, it's easily third for me.

I like THE OMEN. Never got all the love for THE EXORCIST, although it's a good movie, make no mistake. ROSEMARY'S BABY would be the least of the three, regardless.

ROSEMARY'S BABY is the creepiest. It's 1968 for goodness sake! Everything's creepy in 1968!

THE EXORCIST is the edgiest.

THE OMEN is the cheesiest.

If only one could exist and all prints/DVDs/memories etc of the others would be destroyed I'd keep the Exorcist, but I like them all.

It's a tough call between Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist. I voted for the Exorcist. The Omen is a good film but not in the same league as the other two.

The Exorcist - this movie scared me so bad when I was little I was scared of any kind of game that communicates with a spirit, for a while..LMFAO

The Exorcist is my favorite film. Rosemary's Baby is indeed very creepy. The Omen does nothing for me at all.

The Exorcist. The book scared me.... then the movie scared me. I loved it.

The Omen is my personal favorite, but I think The Exorcist is the best.

I've never seen The Exorcist; between the other two, I'd definitely have to go with Rosemary's Baby. I love everything about it, it's one of those films I never get tired of watching. I like The Omen too, but not nearly as much.

I watched Rosemary's Baby last night, and I still get emotional when Guy is trying to rationalize his actions to Rosemary after she sneaked over to the Casavets apartment. Without a word, she spits in Guy's face. That action sums up everything she felt towards her husband (actor John Cassavettes must have loved that - not. "Take 15 on the spitting scene...!")

I'm curious if people who consider these three films to be scary are religous people. As a non-religious person who doesn't believe in evil spirits/the devil/supernatural forces/etc, these films don't really scare me at all because they come across as silly because they could never happen in real life.

For me, the orginal JAWS is probably the scariest film I've ever seen. The quote that "the majority of shark attacks occur in three foot deep water or less" has always stuck with me. I will not go in the ocean ever again -- not even wading out a short distance -- because of this film. So as "horror" films go, JAWS is infinitely scarier to me than the three films proposed in this poll.

Well, the three films proposed deal with the Devil. Sure Jaws was scary, but the devil didn't have anything going on. The shark didn't believe in the devil.
