Great news. I've never seen the movie, but I have heard a lot of good about it. The 3-disc version was always on my wish list but I never got around to it. I'll grab this one up instead.

So is there a difference between this and the 3 Disc Canadian Version film wise?

I can't believe I've had the R1 for almost 6 years. I, too, was close to getting the 3-disc set. I probably won't upgrade but this is good news for those that didn't pick it up the first time. It's a cool flick.

I'm willing to bet it'll be very similar to the 1 disc R1 release. No details yet but we'll see.

The 3-disc Canadian version had worse picture quality than the 1-disc US, so as long as the PQ doesn't get any worse, this should be a home run set.

Ah crap, I just bought the Canadian 3disc set off EBay, and I got it in the mail this week. It was a sealed copy, and it has been on my wish list for as long as I can remember. I have the R1 single disc, and I liked this movie enough to want to get the 3disc set. I'll watch it and see if the picture quality is as bad as canaryfarmer says, but if this information is true, I'll probably sell off the 3disc set after watching it and pick this up when it comes out. Man, why couldn't this info. have come out just a few weeks sooner.

From what I remember, the PQ was the only hit against the Canadian set. Lots of extras and a killer DTS track really enhanced getting it. Doesn't look like this new release has that DTS track

...And no high-def version, despite there being an HD transfer readily available. Nice to see that Universal's lack of sense lives on.

Great, if they deign to include English subtitles this time. I've got the Canadian set and will not get the new US set. I'd jump all over a BD.

Held off on buying this movie for too long. Like others it has been on my wishlist for the longest time.

Let's hope it has all the extras from the Canadian Edition and cleaned up PQ

I agree, they are completely missing the ball here - boooo Universal, you lost a sale - off to buy the import.

As one noted, the Canadian version has a DTS track that is brain assaultive - to say it is aggressive is an understatement.

What's the difference between the director's cut and theatrical cut?

Is this considered an "extended cut" or a "director's cut"?

I am pretty sure it's a "Director's Cut". I think it was just edited on American shores by Universal.

What do you mean by edited? Is it censored? I'm interested in getting this, but if it's censored i'll pass it by.
