DVDTalk review of The Ruins

I thought I had found a DVDTalk reviewer who spoke the truth. Someone who bashed films that needed to be bashed. Someone who didn't get mired in hype and fall for pretentious films like Juno or horrible "homages" like Doomsday.

But then you go and praise a film like The Ruins. How could you Brian?

Ok. Just a bit of hyperbole there. But I saw the film last night, pretty much hated it, and came here hoping that you had reviewed the film. I had totally agreed with a couple of your recent reviews, loved your willingness to totally slam bad films. I was stunned to see you give it a positive review, highly recommended even.

I'll take some solace in your line about maybe watching too many really bad horror films lately, and you were writing more about the potential greatness of the film.

Perhaps because he simply liked it.

I guess you missed the tongue-in-cheek tone of my post.

I was simply having fun with the fact that I had thought I'd found a reviewer that was spot-on with my personal tastes.

Obviously, some people will love this film, and some will hate it, and all are perfectly valid opinions.

Why was this moved? There was already a Ruins thread here in movie talk. My post was to talk about Brian's review.
