Did I imagine this scene from "The Vanishing" (1993)?

I received The Vanishing (1993) last night from Netflix, and noticed there was a scene that didn't play out the same way I remember. I'm usually a big critic of the "false memory" syndrome that some people have in movies like Ferris Bueller's Day Off . People will swear they saw a scene of Sloane undressing by the pool, but their brother's girlfriend's roommate lost the only VHS copy of it. Now I'm afraid I'm experiencing the same phenomenon.

Anyways, when Jeff Bridges tricks Sandra Bullock into his car, I thought she saw a Bible on his dashboard which made her decide it was safe. However, what she really saw was a picture of his family. So have I gotten my abduction movies mixed up, and there's a scene out there somewhere with someone getting inside a stranger's car because she sees a Bible? If see, what movie is it?

Could that scene (as you recall it) have been in the 1988 version?

I haven't seen the original Sluizer in a few years so I can't be sure, and I never saw the American remake.

I have had that "remember-things-differently" syndrome a few times, and it always bugs the shit out of me.

yeah, it was great, she was getting out of the pool in this red bikini #, all wet and drippy and then started to unlasp her top while calling out "Oh Bueller" as she walked towards him.

In the '88 version, I believe she sees a picture of his family as well.
