John From Cincinnati for $29.99 at Best Buy

I apologize if this has already been posted in a different thread, but I did a search and nothing came up. Anyway, I was at my local BB today picking up 30 Rock, and I noticed JFC with a shelf tag that said $29.99. I did not actually purchase it so I cannot confirm that this is a chain-wide sale. As far as I know, it was not advertised in the flyer this week so it might be part of some other sale. MSRP is around $60 on this set so I thought it was a pretty good deal, especially for a set that just came out a couple of weeks ago. Gotta love those HBO shows!

I would say no. While it certainly had it's moments, ultimately it's a very weird and not entirely satisfying show. Unless money is no object I would caution anyone from picking it up blindly; it's too polarizing.

Ditto. Great performance from Ed O'Neill and amazing surfing footage, but there's nothing underneath it all. Random characters acting like stooges, for instance. It's almost as if Milch doesn't completely understand the concept himself. He tries to explain in the featurette, but all he gets from the cast/crew are blank stares.

I really dug it, but I'm not sure why.

It made little sense and had some horrific acting, but I was totally fascinated by it all the way through.

You can be cured from your addiction by watching HBO's "In Treatment".

Thanks for the tip. Thanks to this post, I was able to pick this up for $25 on Saturday (I had a $5 off coupon). I had meant to wait until it hit $20, but this was close enough.

FYI - saw this at an FYE for $29.99 today, too. Asked the guy at the counter how long it had been at that sale price, and he said since last Thursday (4/17).
Don't know how long it will stay at that price there, but it's currently another option.
